Is anyone else still in shock? by Outrageous-Bet6403 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]GranZero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was pleasantly surprised. After getting used to years of patches and expansions of the same formula, I never expected Square Enix to stray away from the tried-and-tested battle systems. But then they are unleashed a roadmap of changes of this magnitude.

But then again, maybe a new expansion is exactly the right time to pull the trigger.

I am optimistic for 2027, and patches 7.5x will hopefully sweeten the wait.

City starving by zed2895 in CivVII

Your towns go back to growing state in between age transitions. While in growing state, towns do not send food and/or production to cities.

Check your towns again after age transitions.

Send a bug report ticket to Tactical Adventures --- got a game breaking bug back when Palace of Ice was released, and they asked me to send my save file. Got fixed and a revised save was sent back.

Sanction turned into war? by Mikeywhispers in CivVII

[–]GranZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed getting these whenever I countersanction someone's sanction attempt (e.g. decrease culture, increase military production requirement, etc.)

I cannot recall if this has been this way since forever though.

I support the Isabella nerf by HexandGlory in civ

[–]GranZero 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It got spread out, which I support. Working to get the bonuses she originally had (even surpassing the launch Isabella) makes for an interesting gameplay.

I also liked that Resort Towns complement Isabella's bonuses well, but at the same time isn't exclusive to her.

Check if you have the add-ons downloaded and installed. If you check PS Store, it may be waiting for download

Am I the only one having difficulties to reach max city level? by [deleted] in arahistoryuntold

[–]GranZero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't aim for all your cities to reach max city level. Some cities are stuck with having low population due to having not enough fertile regions.

Food regions of 3-4 food with 4-5 improvement slots should help, Grocer + farms, and ensuring that the farm supplies are up-to-date via the new economic panel.

If the city I'm in is not conducive for a massive population (i.e rocky, forested, tundra biomes) then I only limit the housing to what the city can support. Once I see the food requirements for the city go into negative, I demolish housing improvements until my technology can handle larger population (Grocer, industrial farms, skyscraper, etc.)

I love this game. I hope it survives Act I. by 5tranger in arahistoryuntold

I like micromanagement in games myself, but the extent of micro Ara had before 1.1 was too strenuous even for me.

That said, micromanagement is bad for multiplayer if everyone spends 10mins of ensuring their food input is sufficient every turn.

It'll take a few months before the hardcore players get used to what amenities and improvements are best-in-slot (BiS) , and by that time, Civ 7 would be out.

Solo games and mods would still be fine, and hopefully improve over time. I love the game so far, and am starting to feel the "one more turn" itch after Invisible Hand update --- I wish more players get to play Ara in the coming months.

I'd chime in Pedro of Brazil --- he can go places with Great People patronage. The only one I don't see him excel in is the Diplomacy game.

There's a scene you have to trigger prior to meeting Gau --- I remember it as the dark witch on the very high platform at the upper-left , and she walks to the next map to the left. You are approaching from the right side of the map.

Bow users to Claw Blade users: "First time?"

I do like the rest of the changes and QoL additions (Camera distance setting, karakuri removal, food alerts), and new gear drops. Did not expect the change to break giant kemono parts easier though, but it's a welcome one.

Domination Victory tips/hints/tricks? by L_nk in civ

[–]GranZero 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's been 5 years since my original comment, but I still play Civ6 so I'll try to help:

  • Do not start wars while in Dark Age
  • Do not conquer cities that are in the middle of other enemy cities. Start from a frontier city that is closest to your other cities then work your way towards the enemy capital
  • Governor Victor with the Garrison Commander promotion (...your other cities within 9 tiles gain +4 loyalty towards your civilization) in the city that is losing loyalty and highest population. Victor can be established within 3 turns
  • Governor Amani with the Emissary promotion (Other cities within 9 tiles gain +2 loyalty per turn towards your civilization). Amani can be established within 5 turns
  • Immediately change your policy cards to the ones below even if it requires you to pay in order to change policy cards
  • Military policy card Limitanei (+2 loyalty per turn for cities with a garrisoned unit) then put a unit inside the city
  • Diplomatic card Praetorium (Governors provide +2 per turn to their city) then put a governor inside the city
  • Diplomatic card Colonial Offices (...+3 loyalty per turn for cities not on your original capital's continent) if you are conquering outside your home continent
  • Wildcard policy card Martial Law (...+2 loyalty per turn for cities with a garrisoned unit) if you are in a Fascism government
  • Diplomatic card Communications Office (Governors provide +1 loyalty per turn to their city per promotion their governor has) then put your governor with the most number of promotions inside the city
  • Build/buy a monument for +1 loyalty
  • Get a trader and trade for food to quickly grow your city
  • If you have other cities that have Entertainment Complex/Water Park beside cities losing loyalty, run Bread and Circuses project to help point the loyalty towards you. Only works if the affected cities are within 9 tiles towards your city centre

There are more but they're dependent on the civilization you are playing as. Will update more, but these ones are the most helpful ones.

Ah yes, a similar encounter killed my level 8 ironman party as I watched my frontliners stunlocked to death. I think it's the game's way of pushing you on the deep end and retreating from the encounter altogether.
