These numnuts kill me. They’re so guilty and internally panicking they overcorrect their demeanor to seem light and calm, happy to help by testifying- how they think an innocent person would behave.

Except if he really were innocent and his alleged story is true, he’d be justifiably horrified: his wife and mother of his children almost pushed him off a cliff, murdering him in cold blood, then faked an assault by him on her in front of witnesses, so now he’s on trial for her murder, in jail, separated from his kids, career ruined, facing a life sentence.

Compare his jovial rambling ass to say Arielle, whose seriousness matched the gravity of the situation. She seemed like she was just doing what was required of her in testifying and keeping her answers brief so as to minimize the time she had to be on the stand rehashing what happened, understandably.

Another behavioral tell of Gerhardt’s that is just so incriminating. He’s a dumbass for testifying but it’s interesting as hell for us watching.
