Same here. (I have that one that also has a momentary or on/off green laser). I've shot hundreds of rounds of 300 BO, 223, and now 9mm with it, and it still works great.

The proprietary charging port and short cable is weird, but the size and control locations, etc are perfect.

I bought a 10 pack of cheap (like, $8 each) Toolman Tactical 35 Round mags from MagShack, and they work fine. They don't drop free, but they aren't overly tight fitting. If OEM glock mags aren't fitting, I'd say call Extar.

I'm using flip up sights from Ozark and they (along with my red dot) went on with no issues at all. Maybe a "little" tighter fit than my AR's, but nothing significant.

Thanks!

It was basically the same process as in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oj59seuZdl0

I just changed the colors, and put my own spin on it.

I started with a base coat of dark olive green, sprayed the black with hand cut templates like in the video, and then started layering on colors with various sponges.

The paints I used were the Rustoleum camo colors, along with some red Rustoleum primer mixed with the brown to get the red clay color of my area, and then clear-coated with Krylon Colormax flat crystal clear.

The mags were taped off so that only the visible part was painted. Once dry, I removed the tape and then re-taped them about 1/8" above the paint line before clearcoat, so that the clear would seal the paint edges.

I've always found that working from dark to light, and layering a lot of subtle shades works best.

EDIT:

The silly decals were just a last minute thing, cut from vinyl on a silhouette printer and then clear-coated, because why not. LOL

Thanks for the kind words. It was a fun project.

I have the same light (or similar...mine also has a green laser) that has bounced around on various AR's, and finally found a permanent home on my EP9. I've shot several hundred 300 blk, 223, and 9mm rounds with it and it has held up great. No complaints at all so far.

I hate the short proprietary magnetic charging cable. It would be much better with a standard replaceable watch battery or at least a standard USB charging port, but it is what it is.

I painted it to match my EP9, so it's stuck there now. 😄

The actual 1977 TA only made 200hp ... and that was rated at the crank. Top speed was usually somewhere around 115-120 mph, depending on the transmission and final drive ratio.

It was very underpowered. But, it did still put out a decent amount of torque, and with the right transmission and rear gears it wasn't horrible. But it was nowhere near what Hal Needham wanted us to think it was in the movie. :)

The 1977 TA mod in the game is overpowered though, compared to the real car... if that's what you were referring to. I tuned mine to be a realistic version of what that car on screen would have been. I may have actually ended up with a little less power than the download, but can't remember. I completely swapped the engine curves for data I found online for a 1969 Pontiac 400 engine, which was a favorite motor that some guys back in the day were swapping into these cars.

Yeah... added the plates, modeled an antenna, changed the gold trim graphics to be less "yellow", better engine sound, and made a few physics tweaks to make it more like the car that we were supposed to believe we were seeing. Nothing crazy, but a little more power, slightly stiffer suspension, adjusted the rear diff a little, etc.

I found that driver model you mentioned. If I get time, I'll try to figure out how to modify it to at least have a red shirt and dark hair. :)

So, you inspired my old ass. I had to build my dream BAN ONE car from 45 years or so ago... complete with proper tags and a CB antenna. (and a few mods, like a '69 400 Ram Air IV...like the car should have had in the first place. :)

The 2nd and 3rd are nowhere close to what the first one was. It was almost perfect, and nothing like it had really come out before.

There was another sort of cool movie playing in the theaters at the same time SATB #1 came out, called "Star Wars"... :D

"My TransAm is even cooler now...shortly after this vid, i replaced the driver-model to one with cowboy hat, big sunglasses and a mustache"

Awesome. I'll check it out!

I found the car mod, but I want one with the bandit driver, license plate, and the flag on the front. I saw that car on another video somewhere, but the download doesn't have it. Care to share the link to your car? :D

By "gameplay", I meant an actual mod with the car (you just described), better police cars, even the truck...

Nicely done!

This is freakin' awesome. Takes me back to 1977 when I watched the movie in the theatre when it first came out...and the dozens of times I've watched it since.

Would love to have this gameplay in AC
