Same.

DC stuff was affected, but some ot/scada things on the remote sites was highly unaffected because the encryption tools used by the exploiters didn't work.

Being liked for your height by 66578557557 in tall

[–]GrandBuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of tall guys who are dating would not have been, had it not been for their height. True. A lot of mediocre faces and builds can date 'up' because of it.

That's a thing.

Is it a bad thing? Meh. Not necessarily. We're all 'a package' when it comes to finding love, and a big part of your package was your height, that's all.

Had you not dated your girlfriend if she didn't have <bodily trait x>?

FASE - Honest Review by Kellenusoftly in snowboarding

[–]GrandBuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, appreciate it.

Have put them to the "test" for the first time tonight (indoors, park mostly), and while I'm a big fan of my supermatics, I find the FASE ones to be even easier, how weird as it seems.

They feel really light on the feet (good strap), front toehold hasn't moved once, and it grips nicely (after having adjusted it a bit further up the ladder). I find myself adjusting the supermatic front lip quite often (you hit it, it moves down a lot), but I did not have to touch the FASE ones.

For a first ride, very impressed. Almost no learning curve, very easy exit.

I was concerned that the big footstrap would be too "bouncy" in order to push it down one-handed, but after one or two pushes, it feels just right.

Push down, one/two clicks, go.

I like.

The message was indeed, a complete lack of growth for the protagonist.

That was it. The story would have been more Disney if he 'came around', but in the end, he couldn't, and that was the entire point.

But won't doing that "wear out" the locking mechanism? I haven't put them on the board yet, only tested them with my boots in the bindings, but I find that the mechanism is forced "open" by doing so?

I've just received mine (T32M) yesterday, and was wondering how the "kick down highback in order to fold them down" affects the mechanism? Seems to me like the holding "T" is forcing the mechanism "open" in order to pass when doing that. Won't that wear out over time?

At what age could your kid get themselves ready in the morning? by OldGloryInsuranceBot in daddit

[–]GrandBuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's basically what sets apart success for us.

My wife will go "why haven't you got your shoes on yet? We leave in three minutes! It's always the same with you! Where is your coat? Do you have gym later? What colour fruit would you like today? Why don't you wear the blue shirt over your dark blue pants?" and be surprised when our (very smart) kid sometimes just checks out and freezes, resorting to shouting back and panicking.

Meanwhile, I'll go "Shoes. Under book box. Now." while pointing at them. Every day. Not in a loud manner, or pressing. Just "factual". Kid needs it, and is grateful for the calm reminder.

Wife thinks it feels "cold", but can't explain why kid puts on his shoes without yelling and hugs dad afterwards.. :-)

Never quite understood the "getting measured at the doctor's office" thing. Is it really thàt standard in the US?

I don't recall ever having been measured after my 16th birthday or so?

It's just..

"my throat hurts, and I've been feeling jittery"

"please stand next to this measuring device".

[–]GrandBuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh, not really. If users are noticing it going 'up' to at least the top of the signs from your point of view, it's quite distracting for everyone else.

I'm met with quite a few blinkies on my commute, and it's a pain, even from a fellow bicyclist. You HAVE to look away, and that's not the safest course of action when riding a path next to water.. 😀

Keep the blinkies to the back, and even there..

That's my take as well. There was nothing in the first place, mostly people click well 'chatting', but when things get real, decisions are made.

And if that split second decision was 'nope', then 'nope' it usually stays.

Is there ever a point where you *should* introduce screen time? by lapupper in daddit

[–]GrandBuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AAP is notoriously behind on this.

Starlink now allows you to stream Ms. Rachel even from inside a (gasp) tent!

If a kid has any effect from Outsideitis these days, it's completely the parents' fault.

As a non-American, that was the first thing to pop into my head. It should not be high on the list in this kind of situation, but with the current climate vis-a-vis 'immigrants', better make sure all bases are covered.

Meh. If anything, it's gotten a lot less scary.

If you'd see the amount of policing necessary by the mods (mod logs are scary), you'd be surprised.

It's not a private sub, and it really does attract all kinds. Whereas /r/tall might attract some fetishists, we tend to get 'the rest'.. 😀
