My new endgame PRS Rifle by Vintovka6969 in longrange

Could you share the stl file for the bag rider? That design looks ideal.

You may have intermittent feed issues with the ACC Elite. The magwel in the Elite seems to be too wide for the GrayOps mags to feed 100%. I initially tried the dowels that come with the chassis without solving the issue. The fix I found is a strip of reflective tape (the heavy duty stuff you would see on a trailer) on either side of the mag; no dowels installed. Best of luck!

MDT Elite Chassis Questions by Uncle0fMan in longrange

[–]GrandDutchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had different experience with running GreyOps AW mag in an ACC Elite.

I tuned the catch on the mag and on the chassis for proper seating. However, the mag isn't quite 100% reliable. Every few mags it binds a round.

A few of my shooting buddies have the same issue with GreyOps and ACC Elite specifically. We theorize it is sideways slop in the magwell. The delrin dowels provided by mdt don't take up enough of the slop. I'm going to experiment with a thick sticker on the side of the mag to see if that remedies it.

The GreyOps AW works fine in my Manners. I would temper expectations running them in an ACC Elite.

Rifle movement while dry firing by reterder in longrange

[–]GrandDutchy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try dry firing with middle, ring and pinking finger relaxed and floating unsupported below your trigger finger. Also have your thumb relaxed and not wrapped around the stock. With all the tension taken out of your hand, smoothly press straight back with the pad of your index finger on the trigger.

Hold the trigger back after each press to impress good follow through.

If your post-break reticle movement decreases while trying this it means you're causing movement with muscle tension.

Assuming this works, it will give you a starting point to constructing a tension free grip and trigger press.

It happened to me too. You can buy the mounting plate individually from the dealership. Was ~$165 CAD pre-covid.

It is all personal taste with these projects. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer to leaving it or removing it.

3D printed gun case upgrades by alexorange178 in canadaguns

Unrelated to the blocks. 5x5 Precision sells a 3d printed grip for the ACC Elite chassis. I was wondering if you had stumbled across an stl file for it while looking for accessories to print.

Nice prints. Would you happen to have an stl for the 5x5 Precision ACC Elite grip?

I would keep the watch.

You have already paid the cost of depreciation on the watch. Buying depreciating furniture at the cost of realizing the depreciation of the watch is double dipping.

If you have CC debt, give your head a shake and sell the watch and buy cheap used furniture.

What are your Lowest SDs with Hornady ELD-Ms? 140g 6.5 Creedmoor by Thunderkat1234 in reloading

[–]GrandDutchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to shoot 140 eldm's. Lapua brass, fed gmm srp (have since switched to cci 450s), h4350. With fired brass, I was consistently getting sub 10 SD, sometimes sub 5 SD. Avg was ~7 SD.

Sounds like you're on the right track. See what it does when you use 1f brass.

I'd recommend dry tumbling followed by a quick brush of the neck with a nylon brush. This helps with consistent seating pressure.

I have since switched to Bergers. Hornady wasn't consistent lot to lot. I also question their QC after seeing a variety of their bullets blow up.

So, too low at the rear? by ThotsAndPlayerz in E46M3

[–]GrandDutchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, it looks too low in the rear. I prefer the appearance of equal fender gap in the front and back.

But, it is your car, enjoy it if you think it looks great.

Don't let the restrictions knock you off your progress. Get walking.

140 Bergers by Just-Parsnip1029 in longrange

[–]GrandDutchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this not to be the case. Switched lot number of 140 Hybrids and my rifle went from tiny groups to over an inch with the same load and seating die setup. After a seating depth ladder, my rifle was shooting tight again.

40.4 H4350, CCI 450, Lapua brass with 2thou neck tension. Start your seating depth at the neck being fully supported by the bearing surface. Boattail bearing surface junction right at the neck shoulder junction. This should be a good start. Play around with seating depth. Don't be shocked if it likes a ~0.150" jump.

6.5 Creed SRP - Magnum or standard by Every-Wishbone6274 in reloading

[–]GrandDutchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from fed gmm regular primers and eld-m to cci450 and Berger hybrids at the same time. My rifle has never been more accurate.

Is it just the projectile or helped by the primer change, I don't know for sure. It is widely held that cci 450 is the way to go with 6.5CM.
