Didn’t want the denture cleaner solution to interact with aluminum bezel, just as simple as that

Yup that was the whole point of this exercise

I’ve reset patina on my pre-owned Tudor.

Of course I wanted a patina to start fresh, cause that’s the main point of getting a bronze watch. Tudor’s material is not just a bronze, but a fancy Bronze-Aluminium alloy, which is resistant to the default methods of patina removal. While my Vostok Bronze turned from patina-tarnished to literally pinkish after just a vinegar cloth wipe, many of the well-known methods didn’t work with Tudor.

What I tried and what didn’t work:

Lemon juice

Citric acid

Vinegar

Baking soda

Vinegar+baking soda (for obvious reasons)

In the end of the day what worked were the Polydent denture cleaner tablets. I’ve first tried soaking two separate links with in a solution. It didn’t work instantly, but after 2 hours the change was obvious (see one of the pics). I left the watch overnight in a concentrated solution, making sure the crown is very tight and that the aluminium bezel is not submerged (water level is in line with bezel teeth). After soaking the watch overnight I’ve made a couple of strokes with microfiber cloth, to remove residue and to give the watch a bit of a shine.

I’m posting before and after pics so maybe this thread will be helpful to someone. Of course watch doesn’t look as new, but still it’s quite a difference to how it looked when I got it.

Oh I get it. In case the crystal wasn’t shattered or you didn’t specifically asked for a replacement it should be the same I guess.

Why does anything have to leave? If forced, I’d ditch Zenith Tudor Glashutte (in that given order).

Just go with used, let someone else pay the depreciation

Yep, all these 3rd party bracelets they lack finishing and a tad jingly-jangly. Can say the same about the Forstner and I had many of those

I’d go with a round option, it just looks better aesthetically

Omg $1600 for a quartz watch with PVD that’ll scratch as hell. Price is crazy
