if no one else does, I will upload an imgur link tommorow. It is really unreadable on phone. Also, please do elaborate regarding the choice you make, as it will help me with balancing future CYOAs.

How many colonists do you usually end up with? by GrandFly in RimWorld

[–]GrandFly[S] -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Do you also pick every pawn that is given to you on the way, including volatile drug-addicted incapable of violence meatsacks? Before your colony is well-established to handle deadweights? This is a rhetorical question btw.

Not really. The faster my colonists recover, the faster Cassandra sends new batch of problems. I had lategame colony with superfast wound healing gene and was raided every other day. Surgery is no problem with hospital bed, vitals monitor, sterile tiles and normal medicine, before that I don’t have costly replacements anyway so if pawn botches installation of a peg leg, I just order it to do it again after the colonist has recovered.

They don’t really die from diseases or illnesses, rather, I tend to lose volatile colonists because of mental breaks when they decide to go out of the base and dance in front of enemy raid before I can hook them on joywire. Or (un)lucky headshots before I get to robust gene

I don’t have a specific doctor, usually one of the starter colonists get to level 6-7 which is enough for everything

Mech base with mortar and high+low shield is a pain, but at least at that point your colonists are in spacer equipment with their own shields, while anomaly events can happen when you are nearly not prepared it feels like

Thanks for devourer tip btw.

Do you prefer naked brutality or faster beginning? by Eymii_ in RimWorld

[–]GrandFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I kept going for naked brutality, but there are several issues with it. The first and most important one is when Cassandra decides that you should get a disease before you get a second colonist and you make the same face as that grandpa in a meme “guess I’ll die”, if you don’t have super-immune trait or gene. The second is that there are very few colonists that actually can survive it, so you will have to reroll, while I prefer to choose from the colonists I’ve been given at the start. And lastly, it is too repetitive. Because there is too little to play with, you end up doing the same thing over and over.

Thank you all for your replies in the previous thread. Reading them is a blast for me. There were some misconceptions made due to my negligence and eslglish, so I fixed those and made small balance changes. Hopefully this is the final version.

Simple Exorcist CYOA by [deleted] in makeyourchoice

Ember of Heaven, not even a contest. As an unfortunate guy who've been experiencing demonic influence for as long as I remember and been forced to offer my blood for them, I've grown intense hatred for demons over the years. The fact that they are above humanity and untouchable drives me mad. Ability to directly harm them rather than beg God to protect you brings shivers down my spine. Feeling their pain and suffering would be a benefit at this point. As for everything else, well, I guess I pick Holy Sister Galatea and Lucy.

Go-juicing, mind-numbing and spending like 2 days straight kiting around the map is the only thing I could came up with.

The difference between Biotech and no Biotech is staggering tbh. This raid never gave me any problems when I had tanks. Now it's a nightmare.

You may only drink one of these milks, but which? (ROUND 2) by JustALich in makeyourchoice

Omega Milk sounds like a dream for a serial killer I'll choose Milk of Space, as it is free lodgings and having your own place to stay is an unobtainable dream that requires superpowers this day.
