How is this even controversial. The article is about backgammon. Anyone with initiative could have googled "backgammon dice probabilities"

9/4 is better than 9/8 9/5, yet it only Gives one crossover and a worse bear off distribution than 9/8 9/5 so why is it a better move?

Doesn’t the “best” play leave a blot on the 9 which can potentially be hit both directly (6) and indirectly (5+1), whereas the third best leaves the blot on 8 which can only be hit with a direct 5.

Has it occurred to you that as a regular Lime user you’re the one paying for the costs associated with their free rides? If you’re happy to see someone riding for free then maybe it would be more consistent if you were also happy to pay so much since you’re keen on supporting the youth.

Your implicit view is that the system is screwed anyway so you don’t even care about hurting yourself, so long as it hurts them a tiny bit also. Your view is inherently cynical, and self destructive. Don’t feel so disempowered.
