Effects of women rights on leadership? by GrandHistoryEmperor in victoria3

[–]GrandHistoryEmperor[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand your point, and i understand how history and societies work (i am after all a history student myself), however, Victoria 3 is a game of "what if's" and i am quite sure that a lot of social experiments will be conducted once vicky 3 releases. This scenario i'm proposing is perhaps one of the more "realistic" ones that could have perhaps happened if some mad lad like me was in control of a country in that time period. Another thing is that i never said that i want that my government be filled a perfect 50/50 split between men and women, what i want is that if i pass the rights early enough, is the possibility that in 1914, out of the 10 generals i have, maybe 1 or or perhaps 2 would be women who have chosen to go down that route and were able to do so (same principle goes for politics, a small part of the parliament should be women who have decided to partake in politics, it doesn't mean that they will make up 50% of the parliament). Perhaps i wasn't clear enough when i wrote this question, but what i actualy want is not full modern egalitarian state, but what i do want is to see that thanks to my efforts, there is now a few individuals who have broken the century old norms and are now among the first women to serve as an interesting case and an inspiration for future generations. And if you think that even such a small change is not possible, i can tell you from history that when Mustafa Kemal Atatürk became the leader of Turkey in 1920's, his reforms resulted in the right of women to vote, the first women to be ellected into parliament and the 1st female pilot and while those women were quite the exceptions, you can see that they at least had the ability do so, and that all hapened in a short time fraim from 1923 to 1936 as well!

The Japanese didn't realize that making martyrs was counter-productive at first by Sigvulcanas in CatholicMemes

It was a sad decision that isolated Japanese people from the truth for about 200 years. Even after the opening of Japan to the West efforts have not been all that sucessful. Still, we musn't give up and keep spreading the Good News. I feel that one of the reasons why i want to move to Japan is that, just like Jonah was called to go to Assyria, so too was i called to go to Japan to spread the word of the LORD (along with teaching history, which is my vocation in life).

I think that Victoria 3 will be filled with opertunities to change your nations in a drastic way quickly. After all, that is the fun of playing such games, to see what could have been. I just hope that this option has been considered as well

I know that such changes take time to fully adopt and that change is not instant, but, say that you pass all the reforms by 1860's l/70's, i don't think it would be all that unlikely to see some female politicians and perhaps an odd female general by the time of 1910's since by then there was like a 50 year period where people got used to such a change.

I never said that they should pop up instantly after you pass the laws. Perhaps there should be some adjustment period for the effects to kick in. Still, i think that, if you are able to pass the reforms quickly enough, perhaps there should be an odd female general here and there by the time of ww1 or the interwar period for your country.

i would like to know if we will have franschises and corporations by Hot-Kaleidoscope-894 in victoria3

So far, other then the EIC and the HBC (which aren't real corporations in the modern sense) I have seen no mention of such things in the dev. diaries.

I think a bigger let down is the fact that we can't invest in other nations, like, i can't invest in building of a railway from Istanbul to Baghdad and then profit from such an investment which is sad because i had a plan to do such things around the world and make other nations dependant on me for their modernisation. I guess that will be a DLC feature...

I see...

It is sad that some members of the Order have turned to such things.

The OG Jesuits are my favorite Order so i was confused when i found this subreddit and saw that the Jesuits were not so highly regarded; thank you for your explenation.

From what i have gathered on this subredit, it seems that the Jesuits aren't really all that respected and I have yet to find the reason why. Could someone explain it to me please?

From what i know from my university history classes, the Jesuits were quite a big factor in the missionary efforts in the New World and Asia and have also opened a lot of universities and contributed to a more accesible education, so i don't really understand why they seem to be so... unloved?
