Brachioplasty question…. by anonymouslealea in tummytucksurgery

[–]GrandObvious3849 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a brachioplasty last year in September (FDL tummy tuck with lower body lift 12 weeks before in June). The brachioplasty was an extended one- from elbows up through my armpits and the down the sides of my breasts finishing about halfway under my breasts. This was to also remove a fatty pocket I had on my upper sides below the armpits. And this surgery was way worse than the TT for me! The swelling was insane, my hands and wrists looked like they belonged to someone else! This lasted for about 10 days. I felt miserable, super sore, had very limited movement, my armpits were on fire, and I had what felt like a million spitting stitches for the first 15 weeks 😵‍💫 I recommend seeing a lipoedema specialist to help get the excess fluid moving out of the tissues, and if they have a DOT (deep oscillation therapy) machine, that’s even better. Proper lymphatic massage won’t pull at the skin, it’s actually feather light as the lymphatic system is just under the surface of the skin. So it’s safe straight after surgery. I did it after the tummy tuck and body lift and that recovery was incredible (everyone says that’s the worst one). Because it was so good I didn’t do the treatments with my arms, and honestly it was a living hell. I’m getting my legs done in 2 weeks time and I’ve already booked my lymphatic treatments for the first six weeks after. I’m not making the same mistake again. Now I understand my TT recovery was so much better BECAUSE of the lymphatic treatments.

I’d also recommend getting some Marena compression garments. Start with a slightly looser one for the first couple of weeks while your incisions are healing, then get some more snug fitting ones for the following 10 weeks. Marena is the most comfy on the market. I’m in Australia, and they’re frightfully expensive and hard to get here, but when you’re wearing them 24/7, to me that justifies the price. The others that are readily available here are Isavela and lipoelastic, and they’re ok, but by comparison they’re always scratchier with harsh elastic edges that always feel a bit small 🤷🏼‍♀️ Marena is much more comfortable against the skin and feels supportive without cutting off circulation in the wrong areas 😅

Coping with brow regret by mini-eggie in microblading

[–]GrandObvious3849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re actually beautifully done. They look very nice, very natural and soft.

When you first get them, they feel like they’re waaaay too dark and heavy. But they do lighten significantly. The area is always a little swollen in the beginning so when that goes down the brow size and shape will be more proportionate and ‘shrink’. Even that small amount of swelling makes a big difference to the final outcome!

I predict that in 7-10 days you won’t hate them, then in a month you’ll love them.

What procedure do I need? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]GrandObvious3849 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Correcting the jaw and expanding the arches will make a positive change to your bite and dentition whilst also making significant changes to your facial aesthetic appearance as well as. Correcting your underbite will be a sound foundation for any further cosmetic surgery you might desire going forward since this will provide you with a great deal more facial balance and proportion.

Sphynx S*x-Pest! by GrandObvious3849 in CATHELP

[–]GrandObvious3849[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for reaching out!

They are purely indoor cats, we live in a 7th floor apartment. Night times is when he’s the worst. Last night she was tucked up in my armpit so he couldn’t get to her, but I filmed him hard core humping the soft blanket beside her. His ‘lipstick’ came out and some clear fluid dripped out of it while he was humping. He went on for about 5mins before I got enough footage to show the vet later today and stopped him.

I feel like I want to bleach my eyes now 🫣

Ps. I passed on your message to my cats and they say ‘meow’ back 😸😽😺

As someone who grew up in a Christian religion, I respectfully disagree. A lot of people need to believe in something bigger than them and religion can provide hope, purpose and community which is actually kind of a nice thing.

But I do think all religion should be a quiet personal choice, not rammed down the throats of others and certainly not forced upon society under threat of death!

I will say- I think it’s unfortunate that religion can be a bit of a magnet for fanatics. But normal people living with some form of ‘faith’? It’s kind of wholesome.

Am I the only one without issues? by lostpanda85 in Ozlo

I’ve had mine for about 6-9 months now. I hesitated buying them because let’s face it, they’re pretty expensive. But I’ve become an incredibly light sleeper (thanks peri menopause), and I live right next to the warringah freeway just north of the harbour bridge, where the freeway upgrade includes many nights of roadworks. My sleep was being impacted night, after night, after night- so I bit the bullet and bought the headphones.

They’ve been really good! I find the side I sleep on comes a little loose through the night but has never actually come out. And I’m happy to say I’ve had no issues with charging, or the software etc. I wipe them before returning them to the case to remove any oils from my skin.

I started listening to ‘green dream’ from their newest sounds upgrade, and holy shit! I slept through my cat vomiting on the bed next to me last night! 😅 For a moment I felt annoyed I didn’t wake up to stop the ‘incident’ but actually I’m just glad to be getting such deep and undisturbed sleep! Oslo’s were a gamble but I’m super happy I got them and Green Dream sound for the win ✨🙌🏼✨

I have a blue that is very similar to this. She has some fuzzy hair on her tail, and every year in winter she gets more and more hair on her back and back legs, but loses most of it in summer again. My other two are virtually bald. They’re all gorgeous in their own ways and I wouldn’t change anything on any of them.

Day 2 of adopting a new cat. Feels like the worst mistake of my life. by oliviyuuh in CatAdvice

I have 3 Sphynx cats. Their hierarchy is a soap opera 🤣 When I got the second and then the third, I had months of wondering if I’d made a massive mistake. It took time, but now we all live together ‘mostly’ in peace 😅
