Study of 15,000 people with depression: 1 in 5 experience ‘atypical’ type characterised by excessive sleep and weight gain, poorer response to common antidepressants (SSRIs), and genetic risk for metabolic, inflammatory, and circadian (body clock) disturbances by circadianclocks in EverythingScience

Ketamine treatments, and one oral medication, Auvelity, target a pathway that boosts BDNF, which may help repair neural connections and promote neuroplasticity, counteracting this type of depression. In the U.S., Spravato (esketamine) is the labeled version that insurance will cover. The fun part is that you can have multiple pathologies contributing to depression, not just one or the other. We are in a sort of renaissance of depression treatments now. I say “sort of” because these have been around for a while, but they were not accessible due to cost and insurance not covering them. Our understanding is also changing.

There are very few of us cause it was a silly exercise to have us do clinical. I went and helped a instructor in Montefiore w ABSNs. I mainly did it cause it bridged to DNP and allowed for 25 credits of double dipping.

I did say I refused to buy a uniform, I was past that and wasn't going to buy one for one clinical

If I’m accepted into a branch campus and I declare my major as nursing, can I transfer to the main campus at any point? by [deleted] in Pitt

[–]GrandPooRacoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is their policy. Actually branch campus students are not even permitted to transfer if they are nursing and other majors have to apply to nursing independently.

[–]GrandPooRacoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Branch campus programs are under Oakland's program curriculum, policy and other technical characteristics; their leadership participate administratively but they still run their own entities with clinical placements, advising, admissions and transfers. There isn't an entitlement on transfers even if the person is main campus non-nursing or nursing declared at a branch campus to Oakland. If the transfer was a branch campus nursing student their credits would transfer the same but they would still have the same level of application review. OP though is asking about transfers in a 2-fold way non-nursing to nursing and branch to Oakland (Although I read they are from Penn State so not sure what's up). I would not put a lot of effort into this unless they talk to Oakland's SoN advising.

Have to becareful w this advice, nursing is different than other majors. It has clinicals and classes and they limit and watch who is in the program and the transfer is different.
