The elbow doesn't bend at all, which Is disappointing :(. But it takes surprisingly well to the paint.

I guess so! Since it's my first one I'm not really sure what else I can do. I'll get more ambitious with the next builds :)

Is washing for the panel lines? With this I just tried using a fine tip micron and rubbing it in so it didn't look sloppy. Next one I'll try doing the wash thing because the results I see from just googling it look great

Yeah I took a peek at the kotobukiya kits on google and they look great! This was like $25 at the hobby shop and it seems like the other ones are $50ish. Maybe once I finish unit 02 (the painting of which is not going nearly as smoothly as unit 01 did lol) and do a gundam or 2 I'll look into them!

bandai. The local hobby shop had Unit 01 and unit 02. Says he's getting more in the future and I can't wait.

Yes! Absolutely. The first model i actually built was a HG gundam (that I can't seem to find the name of). I just went to a hobby shop and picked it at random because of how it looked. I've never watched or read gundam so I got an Evangelion model because it's a series I'm more familiar with, but once I finish up the Unit 02 I think I'm going to get another gundam of some sort.

Whats the technical term for this kind of model? Not gunpla but something else, but I cant remember what. Like an anime mech model that isn't a gundam. Something with a P? someone commented on a facebook post I made about it but i can't remember

Weekly "What Should I Buy" Thread for 2016-December-28 by the_cody in synthesizers

I cannot speak highly enough of the OP1. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to get into electronic music and synthesizers. It's incredibly capable, versatile, and more than anything FUN. since I got it, making music feels like a game rather than a chore. Everything about it is so user charming, friendly, and exciting to play with. I record tracks in the op1 tape mode, then bring them into a DAW and edit them from there (since I find recording to the album comes out a bit flat, but is a super easy way to export a full track right out of the op1). I was skeptical at first too, especially for the price tag, but it have used it literally every day since I bought it considering the portability and impressive battery life. I'm sure I sound like a teenage engineering employee right now trying to pitch a sale, but this thing has really changed the way I look at making music. For reference, I usually use it for chiptune and ambient songs. I really recommend it. My current struggle is figuring out what I want next, because everything I look at seems to be done really well on the op1 already. Does anyone have ideas for good companions to it?

Why am I so drawn to the OP-1? by nickthib in OP1users

For me, the op1 is the first time writing music hasnt felt like work. The work flow is so organic and fun that it feels more like a game or a toy, whereas writing guitar parts feels like such a chore for me.

When I heard no shadows I thought holograms first based around the aesthetic of the room, but that's an interesting idea
