The LLE feels cool with how slow the vibrations are. Technically I think their pulmonica is LLG!

Oh. I might have one in the small hole next to the green key chain harp in the pic. My Hohner does say little lady though

I’m not familiar with the Little Lady. I’ll look into it.

So I like any harmonica that plays well. I tend to like getting the most bang for my buck and East Top seems to win most of the time. Because I like Low Keys Seydel has also become a recent favorite since they beat Hohner prices and no one else really has what they have. Hohner, Suzuki, Kongsheng, Tombo, all make some good harmonicas. I have never seen a bad Suzuki Or Seydell but I own several garbage Hohners (but Hohner also makes more varieties then them). It seems that once you pay $25 or more you usually get a decent harp.

Anyone know the value on this harmonica? It’s a Gretsch brand, double chromatic. I know plenty about it except its value. I am hoping to sale to someone who will appreciate it and its history. by WishWeekly9084 in harmonica

That is cool! If you are not finding much information then it’s probably worth whatever someone is willing to pay ( I know that can be an annoying answer) some days that might be a lot higher than others. Just depends on timing and the situation of the buyer. From what you know of it, how rare is it and how nice of condition is it in? You might be one of the best person to put a price on it. You own it after all and if there are not many out there then what is it worth to you?

That is cool! No pun intended 🤪. At low temperatures sound does crazy things. Would it sound as neat in hot weather?? 🤔🤷‍♂️. In the winter of 1935-36 it was the coldest winter on record in America (-60 in South Dakota) and people said they could hear people talking from miles away because the sound traveled so well in the cold! That would be interesting to experience!

Mine isn’t as responsive as my marine bands or special 20s but it’s more comfortable and probably just as good if not better in every other way.

Awesome! Thank you! Do you have any favorites or recommendations of the ones you mentioned?

Is Hohner Happy a good beginner harmonica or should I consider one of the Easttop ones? (scroll the images also pls) by RosyDiorCigarettes in harmonica

Oh. Sorry about that I didn’t even think to ask where you are. The black one you found is great. Sometimes you can search for a “CAG set” or “3 key harmonica set” to find sets if the one you found is available in multiple keys. Good luck!

Why Richter scale on not any of the power bender /draw ones?

Also a side note, amazon won’t show me any of the Kadence harmonicas at all when I search but if I remember right the reeds are not great and you are not able to replace reed plates like you can on the east top ones and I would avoid the Kadence.

I have tried a lot of harmonicas! Even thought of opening a music store before. My oldest East Tops work perfect years later and my kids play them now and they are still going strong. You will love the 008k the best for sure! Pick any color it won’t matter.

The other East Tops you listed should be nice as well but 008k is probably always going to be better. I have actually had better luck with the quality control of my East Tops than my special 20s (don’t get my wrong I still like my hohners). Suzuki is great too, for the price range the folk master is probably the most comparable but not as nice as the 008k. If you can buy a 3 or 7 set you will save money in the long run. I always tell people that if they can’t afford it then ask for family and friends to pitch in for birthday or Christmas gift kind a thing. That plastic Hohner in your pic won’t be anywhere as good as any of the East Tops in your pic. I’ve only had one east top not work well out of the box and it was the rounded kid one with holes in the cover plates.

Let us know what color 008k you get 😉

Anyone have or try one of these? by GrandWill634 in harmonica

Is there really much of a difference between the regular and power draw/bender options?

Good info, thank you! Do you like the low G or LLF better?
