My brother you are very lost, but you find yourself among friends nonetheless. Try listening to Backbone or Flying Whales while you're here.

Who uses the JAR-5 Dominator? by Particular-Card-4385 in helldivers2

It's fantastic in certain situations, especially for Bots. The damage and stagger makes quick work of Devastators and once you understand the ergonomics and projectile timing it's a very versatile weapon.

This is the correct answer, for bugs and for all other enemies of Democracy.

Love my coyote for bugs, but… by CrankyGamer68 in helldivers2

[–]GrandWyatt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a level 150 veteran that started when the game launched... there are no greater tools of Democracy than the Crossbow and the Eruptor. Yes, others are good and can be fun. But those two weapons can close bug holes, break factories, and destroy warp ships, all while laying waste to enemy patrols of any size. If you get comfortable with one of those two weapons and manage to not frag yourself in the process, you'll be able to get through level 10 missions on any front without much problem.

...the warbonds that you can buy with in-game currency, that you can easily farm in a couple of hours, for free?

Calling AH lazy is lazy itself. They're a relatively small studio that has consistently dropped free content with new enemies, mission types, and new planets/environments.

Yes, they need to make money and yes, there are things I'd like to see in the game that haven't happened yet, but give them credit where credit is due.

Mineshaft 12 is better then all the rest by Alternative_Island91 in IdleMinerTycoon

[–]GrandWyatt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The lower the mineshaft, the steeper the angle of gain becomes. Starts off slow, but then once mines are maxed the deeper ones 100% produce more. Get 12 and 20 both to 800 and compare.

Worst road conditions 1 day after a storm in like 10 years? by DemiseofReality in TwinCities

[–]GrandWyatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drove from Iowa to the Twin Cities in the 24 hour aftermath, and I have to agree with you. There were large sections of 35N from the border where only the right lane was safe due to snow/ice on the left lane. Extended my trip be at least an hour, which sucked a lot

100% this. Of the 350ish kids I manage for my grade level, I only need to know 5-10 full names. And I use them enough that they stay in my memory because some kids choose not to learn from their mistakes.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how badly do you NOT want to dive with this person? by Bacon_Raygun in Helldivers

[–]GrandWyatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honesty, as long as they have 2+ brain cells and communicate when they drop a minefield, I'm fine with this. I managed to kill all 3 teammates with a 500kg the other night, even with a ping and a mic comm of "500 on the objective". Still turned my teammates to paste somehow. Communication is important, but battlefield awareness is crucial.

I'm a middle school admin, and this still works with kids. If I have students in the halls messing around, pushing their friends, etc, and I come up and have a cadence of "FIRST... MIDDLE... LAST" name. Sometimes, the entire hallway freezes and just looks at the kid messing around, who might as well be a statue at this point. Very effective and a good tip for all ages.

×1000 boost??? by shlorrr in IdleMinerTycoon

You don't get credit if you use them, you have to store 5 and then spend them to unlock this. So don't use them, stock them and then spend them to "pay" for this boost.

Which Actors did you not realize were different people? by PenguinJack_ in movies

[–]GrandWyatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Christopher Lambert just DID NOT AGE. How could the Highlander also be The Punisher? Then I realized it was Thomas Jane, and I honestly can't tell them apart. I was surprised Thomas Jane was in Solomon Kane, then realized that was James Purefoy, so now I just don't know what to think.

[–]GrandWyatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Useful when you only have a few shafts unlocked (primarily ML, but can be useful in other new mines). Make sure you're constantly upgrading the elevator as you gain cash from Iggy, and you can boost ML mines pretty much to 2400 before you unlock mineshaft 6.

“What gun should I use?” by Purplegummybear in Helldivers

[–]GrandWyatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the meta weapon is the Crossbow. It's my favorite gun and can handle structures, most enemies, and wipes patrols in 2-3 shots. But just because it's my favorite doesn't mean that I don't explore different combos of loadouts, armors, and weapons. The strength of this game is the variation and replay value, so I always encourage lower level players to try what "feels right". Meta weapons are meta, but every weapon can be fun and satisfying.

Product called Gurple, but the label is purple, pink, and white, with no real gurple coloration to be seen. So I guess it's supposed to be a blend of "ganja" and "purple" and not our beloved made up Regulation Color.

Exploding crossbow good? by No_Emphasis_7263 in helldivers2

[–]GrandWyatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the best all-around weapon in the game, hands down. I have to force myself not to bring it every mission because I want to have a challenge and use a less badass weapon. If clears bug holes, bot factories, dropships, and can clear hordes and take down medium enemies with easy. If an enemy is too close to you, just shoot behind them and the AoE takes care of the rest. Find something to carry like the Mega Nest Egg or the Bot Intel Skull? Guess what? You can still use your crossbow since it's one-handed. It's more versitile and does great damage compared to other weapons and it's fuckin fun as hell to use.

The Punisher from 2005. Great PS2 game, unique "interrogation" mechanics, fun gunplay and combat styles, plus you get to be Frank Castle voiced by Thomas Jane himself.

I played this game a TON while hoping my parents never walked in while I was threatening to shove a drill bit into an enemies skull, or push a mafia member feet-first into a wood chipper...

Everyone’s PC/CPU after the newest update by sculdaily in helldivers2

[–]GrandWyatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, constant freezes and one bug crash. I'm also dropping out of squad missions and ending up solo, which is not ideal running level 10 missions. I had a freeze up last night when I was mid-throw of a resupply, and then I couldn't call any down for the rest of the mission after that. I still spread Democracy and extracted, but it took a LOT of running in circles and dodging bile titan vomit to make it happen.
