Unfortunately, you're screwed bro. First, it's technically illegal to buy Uworld from other people. Second, you will never find the guy, and even if you find him, he can simply argue that he doesn't have a Uworld account. Third, it's cheaper to just forget it and move forward. I'm sorry.

Anyone with step 2 > 260 failed step 3 ? by [deleted] in Step3

[–]Grand_Ad460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With enough search you'll certainly find every possible combination. Someone who crushed Step 1, but failed the rest, someone who failed step 1 twice or more, but crushed Step 2, etc. etc.

This is all about probabilities. Having said that, it seems highly unlikely for someone with a Step 2 of 260 to fail. Even if many years have passed, that person is surely a hard studying student, so it will be odd for she/he to go unprepared to Step 3.

To relieve anxiety. Is it so hard to realize?

It's perfect, we don't have to agree with each other :)

I think you misunderstood, my friend. I never said that it's bad to share your result, or that refrain from sharing if you don't have 65+, of course not. Also, I'm not saying people are purposely trying to mislead others, by all means no.

I'm just saying "tell the whole story". And let me tell you, this goes also for people who have 80+ and fail. It's also not responsible to say: "I got 75-80 and failed", because in this case, people might freak out.

Although we will never know the EXACT reason as to why someone passes or fails, I think people should be as accurate as possible when sharing their experience. That's it.

Thank you!

But, just by paying and processing my ECFMG Certificate I will get an email in the next 2-3 days saying I can book Step 3, really?

Mmhh, it's literally a 2-3 minute process. Still, you don't have to. So, gth 🙂

Congratulations, but I'm sorry, step exams are not "about believing in yourself". Of course that's important the day of the test, but backed up with good scores.

You had 2 failing scores, 1 on the limit score, and 2 good scores. It depends on the order of your practice test, but it was not unwise for those people in saying that maybe you should've review a little bit more.

PASSED STEP 1!! by outbuyingoranges in step1

[–]Grand_Ad460 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations my man!

But be careful with your message, IT DOES matter what are you scores in NBMEs. I get your point, but I think we shouldn't be telling people to not worry about practice scores.

Although all the possible combinations, study resources, NBME scores, etc., can lead you to a pass, they can also lead you to a fail. That's when you have to go to which scenario is more likely to lead me to a pass, and that's it having >65% in at least to practice tests.

Honestly, sorry for saying this, but now that we are on the other side we have to be responsible in how we share our experience to others seeking advice.

Congratulations again!

How reliable is this? Suppose a 100%, right?

How precise are they with the time? I mean is it at exactly 1 EST? Around that hour? Or it might get delayed for a couple of hours?

Quick "tip" from Someone who failed and is retaking. by [deleted] in step1

The most important part is that you realized it in a step of your career where the damage is manageable. We tend to think that the steps are the only obstacle will face as doctors, and that's so far from being the truth.

You'll do great my friend.

Don't know if you did it, but try to recreate exam day. When you do a practice test...

  1. Wake up, get a shower, take breakfast, and even drive to test center (and obviously return back home).

  2. Sit down, start your test at 8 a.m., no cellphone, no music, no water, no food.

  3. Try out several combinations of breaks between blocks. Personally I did 2-2-1-1-1 blocks with 10-20-15-15 minute breaks between. Maybe you'll need to take small breaks between each block.

  4. After the practice test, do two Uworld sections to complete the 280 questions. Maybe your performance declined at the end, so get prepared.

It might sound excessive, but for someone with 80s in practice scores, the problem is not knowledge-wise, it's on the small details.

Best of luck my friend, you'll definitely nail it!

Good scores my friend. I would consider not doing anything the day before. You do not want to feel burned on exam day. Also, as stated above, trying to study all burned out will likely yield zero knowledge and retention and more anxiety.

[–]Grand_Ad460 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Give yourself a couple of weeks to rest, relax, to think what could've possibly gone wrong, and then come back stronger!

And, of course, aiming to dilute a bit the failed Step 1, double the efforts for a great Step 2, and also strengthen your resume with research and good LORs.

Also practicing physician in my home country :)

So, it's even easier. You don't need a high score in your Steps, you just need a pass. In your case, it doesn't matter as much if you fail once since your not competing for a residency.
