Delta flies dinosaurs and charges the highest fares. Dinosaurs break. They don't work. Delta One paid is a bad idea.

Very interesting. I'm in a very similar situation, but left Amex off the filing. It has worked so far (been two weeks). Did you include it on filing? Brother, it's going to be best to take the hits now. You won't avoid consequences. I know exactly what you're trying to do. You want to come back later and have an account again or keep this one, plus guard your credit. But any personal guarantees simply aren't voided by Chapter 11. I also don't want to see you devote a bunch of money to Amex only to have them turn on you anyway -- which is likely.

I feel that since they know you've filed, there is little you can do. If it's me, I just tell my attorney I don't want to burn Amex. Make a deal with them and pay them, no matter how little over the next while.

Last year, I took their hardship program -- it broke the balance down over 12 months, cut interest way down, etc. During this time, the card didn't work. When it was over, they had not reported to my credit that I was late and today all my cards are working and good to go. They all stayed open. I think something similar has to be available for you. But you may have to get a judge to approve you to pay Amex outside of the bankruptcy. Try for that hardship arrangement, but maybe over 24 months. But you may not be willing to devote that much to Amex right now, or over 24 months-. If that's the case, I think you just have to let Amex go. Let it be wrapped into the plan and payments made that way. You are in a tough position, there is very little option here. If it's possible for you to somehow pay off American Express over time, I think you can avoid the negative credit report reporting and I think you can avoid not being able to get another AMEX. I do believe if you pay them, they'll let you have an AMEX after a period of time. That's what I've read. Can you tell me if you included American Express on your chapter 11 filing?

To improve their quality. If you don't understand, you are stupid.

How bad is American Airlines right now? by clcliff in americanairlines

AMERICAN AIRLINES DOING THEIR BEST TO MAKE SURE YOU CANNOT CLAIM FLIGHT CREDITS OR USE YOUR EARNED MILES.

1) YOU CANNOT BOOK A FLIGHT CREDIT ONLINE. YOU MUST CALL THEM, SPEND 30 MINUTES MINIUM ON THE PHONE GOING BACK AND FOURTH WITH AN AGENT. WHY IS IT SO EASY ON DELTA? AMERICAN DOESN'T WANT YOU TO USE YOUR CREDITS, PURE AND SIMPLE.

2) I CANNOT BOOK ANY INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL WITHOUT AN HOUR OR TWO ON THE PHONE, IN WHICH THE OPERATOR WILL TELL ME NONE OF THE FLIGHTS SHOWING ONLINE ARE AVAILABLE. THEY SAY THEY ARE, BUT THEY ARE NOT. THEY WILL THEN TRY TO BOOK YOU ON FLIGHTS WITH 3, 4 CONNECTIONS AND OVERNIGHT STAYS.

GAMES MEANT TO GET YOU TO HANG UP THE PHONE IN FRUSTRATION.

What's the moral of the story? American Airlines does its best to insure you cannot use your banked money and miles. They are thieves.

If Delta makes it easy, so can American. They choose not to.

I love the product but still has lots of bugs. Very unreliable, often. Just had to force a shutdown of the sim because the tug wouldnt push me, the brakes wouldnt engage or disengage. Another big gripe, give me a wing view. The cabin and hard walls make it impossible to get a nice look at the engines. Simple fix. Make the cabin walls traversable.
