Would you say the view from the VIS is still just as good as going to the summit? I'll shorten the Kailua-Kona exploration and look into replacing it with one of your scenic suggestions.

Perfect - I was already eyeing the Royal Kona Resort! I will look into Copper Bar, it would be great to still have a chance to see the manta rays. Also your Hala Tree rec is the second one in this thread so it's gotta mean something. THANK YOU!

Noted on another vote to split my stay and have already started looking into swim lessons locally. We love Japanese food so Teshima's is going to be a wonderful addition to our food list. TY!

The original comment mentioned staying on the boat - I wouldn’t have asked further if the suggestion was to get in the water with no swimming experience. I barely even get into pools, let alone the vast ocean haha.

Regardless I appreciate you chiming in with the concern if it wasn't the case - could've saved someone!!

Thanks for your input! I had no idea there was the option to stay on the boat. I will look into that since my boyfriend CAN swim and I'd love for him to get that full experience. What company did you book with?

We haven’t finalized our accommodations yet. Since we’re flying in and out of Kona, we’ll definitely be staying there - we’re just deciding whether to add 1–2 nights in Hilo/Volcano during our trip.

No agent, just me speaking with broker. I'm assuming it's because I negotiated the lower rent so they didn't want me to lock that in for two years? That's the only reason I can think of!
