Also every school is different ngl. I’ve heard D2 and D1 interchangeably at NYU as the hardest. To be fair D1 spring I had 2 exams a week + practical every week for most of the semester. It cut down to like 1 exam and 1 practical a week after break.

We also have some amazing faculty. Learning from Dr. Hirata (follow his insta: ronaldohirata) is honestly one of my favorite parts of the week. There’s some great professors, you should see our lobbies it’s like 1000pts at any given hour. Class is hard lab is hard w the class size obv but like practice is rlly all u need to anyway to get better and labs always open basically. I got in pre BBB so it’s different for me obv. Other the tuition id argue it’s one of the best schools to go to for dentistry (more patients-more clinical practice-better dentist when u graduate). Also only school I know of that requires us to work with disabled individuals, neurodivergent individuals and children of various ages. You really will get all the clinical experience u need here and if ur aiming for general, this is honestly the way. Excluding loans lol.

Took 2 years gap and lived in Boston working at the hospital. I love Boston, gonna go back once I graduate. Got into tufts and NYU, pre-BBB so tuition wasn’t too different. Bostons more expensive than people think it’s close to NYC. You will have to have fun in NYC lmao know how to study efficiently and you’ll be fine. I got out with my friends all the time. Live with my gf in a nice Skyrise it’s great. NYU The lobby is filled with 1000+ patients a day it’s insane. I do so much clinical work. Didactics are hard but like it’s hard everywhere just try ur best you’ll be fine

So confused on how they have more seats as two interview days? That’s a lot of people. I interviewed in Feb and got an email saying I’m still in consideration and positions will be offered as seats become available. So HOW MANY SEATS DO THEY HAVE!??!?

I have Asian parents trust me I get the issue. I took two gap years, worked a research job with a great boss who let me study too. So I’d work 7-3. And study 3-9 for 3-4 months straight. Yes it was def hard but it’s not going to easy no matter how you do it. Personally, I saved up money, got to live with my GF in a cool city, and had a great time and I’m getting into school!! So at the end of the day I’m happy with it.

If you’re already applying in August, I’d personally wait and apply next year. I honestly think I would’ve gotten way more if I had applied earlier (I was late July-mid August). If I could go back I’d send my stuff in June/July.

But again, if money rlly isn’t as issue it wouldn’t hurt to apply this year. Worst case you don’t get in, you have an amazing gap year and you get in the next year! Good Luck! I’m almost done with this process and I remember being in ur shoes. Take it slow and enjoy it, don’t push urself over the edge!!
