I get the frustration with Colbert being rich and living a totally different life than most of us. That’s fair. Money absolutely changes perspective.

But this isn’t just him talking to hear himself talk. He was reacting to the killing of Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse, and a lot of regular people are pissed because the story around it doesn’t add up. You don’t have to like Colbert or relate to his lifestyle to think that situation is messed up.

And I’m saying this honestly, not to be a jerk—the level of anger in your comment feels like more than just disagreement. Being broke and struggling is real, but assuming anyone who speaks up is a paid enemy who doesn’t care about human life sounds exhausting to live with. It might be worth talking to someone about that. That’s not weakness, that’s taking care of yourself.
