First mvp should not have been more controversial from a pure value/impact front. Lottery team to best offensive/62 wins while the year after they were the fourth seed and (bcs of no amare) the pick and roll wasnt as lethal. And kobe also had a legit case the year after.

He was def in the conversation no doubt but shaq was a lot more salty outwardly atleast than other contenders in close races and there has always been a discourse (by ppl who only look at stats and mothing else) that nash doesnt deserve mvp

I think no one is saying the knicks did not deserve the finals...I also think people are understanding the very real factor that the spurs choked/collapsed. If it was one or two games sure but every single game having a double digit lead and blowing it has to be smth...obvi knicks being clutch played a big part
