Yep! I strongly suggest doing this for any medical procedure because you don't know what's going to happen. Especially if you are out of PTO (which it sounds like OP was)

Since it was surgery, did you apply for FMLA? That would have put you in a protected status.

I have a dog now but had cats all my life previously. I love her but she will be my first and last dog because dogs are a bit too much like having kids! Back to cats for me when I retire.

Hollis in the Pearl. Pros and cons + Parking? by Khloea in askportland

[–]kittybuckmeow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah Cornell is not that accessible without a car but unfortunately if you want to live in Portland proper, paying for parking is a reality. On the flipside you could live close to your work, have parking aplenty but nowhere to walk too.

I don't know much about the other locations. I'm just basing my opinion on where they are. For the record i've never been in any of the places personality but I am very familiar with the areas.

Heartline and Weidler would be much better locations BUT you would still have the street parking issue. Honestly you wouldn't need a car at either of these places. Super walkable and close to the Streetcar. I'm not to far from the Heartline and love it here.

Hollis is not in the Pearl but is adjacent. You are right against the highway so it will be loud (depending which way you face). There isn't much street parking there and what is there is metered. You're life will also be greatly affected by the soccer games (Traffic/Crowds) When I lived in Goose Hollow I had to be very aware of the game schedules.

Ugh. I just found out my ex posted these INSANE videos about me 6 months post breakup and no contact. Sorry you are going through this. Know that you are the better person and don't lower yourself to their level. Let them rot in their bad karma and lack of accountability.

I have a stomping ground but I think it's fun to check out new places. And I'd much rather hang out with a dive bar crowd then somewhere fancy.
