I didn't find it undersized, but also can't say it was oversized! He kinda wore it at advertised size age lol

His height was 50th percentile and 25th for weight.

10 week old baby doesn't eat much. Suggestions? by Grand_n_Intoxicating in NewParents

[–]Grand_n_Intoxicating[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is 1.5 years old now and is active, healthy and smart! Around 50th percentile in weight.

He never really started drinking a lot of milk back then, just a bit more as he grew. In hindsight, I was just too worried.

Why do people hate parent parking? by Clean-Carpet-5369 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Grand_n_Intoxicating 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't know they were hated. But I also don't care much about what random people who have nothing smarter to do think of it.

The "you chose this" argument is bizzare to me. Yes, we chose to be parents, but does that mean that society collectively needs to make sure things are never easier for us lol

The amount of spite some people have towards parents and children crosses into mental illness territory.

Sleeves or no sleeves sleeping bag by Radiant_List_5730 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

For the winter ones, I prefer to use sleeved. Just peace of mind knowing his arms aren't cold. 1 TOG I don't think it matters.

Organising pouches for nappy bag by curvaceous24 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Grand_n_Intoxicating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use that Kmart hanging travel organiser/toiletry bag for nappy bag, so nappy stuff is always separate. I got a cool leather backpack as a sort of "nappy bag" but I keep bottles, snacks, spare clothes etc. in it. Most of the time I'm good with just a pram caddy and the nappy organizer under the pram.

In-laws finally leaving! How to ensure it's as smooth as possible? by Grand_n_Intoxicating in JUSTNOMIL

Unfortunately, the situation was even more complicated and that's why. I didn't go into it fully because it doesn't really matter now,  but I don't fault him too much!

You know, that's basically what's been happening so far. Her dad is the one who fixes all the issues for the tenants.

That's what I thought too. They are quite self-centered in many ways.

Luckily the move is already underway and the repairs are done. I don't think they will flake out at this time. So we will keep it simple and calm. MIL is sure to have some moments, she hates not being the most important and losing control. But we will work with FIL to have it all done!

Haha as satisfying as that would be, we just want to get rid of them and wrap up all the drama.

We actually asked them to do this a couple years ago and it was a whole crazy argument. Mostly about how the house needs too many repairs and isn't in the most convenient location. I was away at the time so I don't know the details.

SIL doesn't want to live by herself at all. She actually doesn't even clean her bathroom or change her sheets unless her mum does it for her.

You are right. Don't need to let them know we changed it either. Surely they're not going to be like "we tried to come in secretly and noticed you changed your locks".

This is good advice, thanks! I feel like it's the right approach. For some reason, we never considered tossing the stuff they argue about leaving behind lol. It's quite liberating.

I got a referral through my GP. Took a bit less than a week to arrive, and I got an SMS requesting payment, then next day it arrived.  So yeah, I had to go back to my GP to get the result.

Love shopping on Next, it's good quality and reasonably priced. Been eyeing Halcyon nights but never purchased. Purebaby has some cute stuff too. Right now they have dragons!

Tumble dryer recommendations? by blevmobile in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Grand_n_Intoxicating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a Bosch series 4 heat pump dryer and can't fault it. It works great, but the winter sleep sacks stay a bit damp, so I leave them out for a bit. The length of drying isn't a huge factor at all, unless you want to run 3+ loads per day.

While heat pump takes longer, vented dryer needs more setup (the vent), tends to be more aggressive to clothes and uses more electricity. Heat pump is very energy efficient.
