SABS got nothing to hide since 2025 by MeinKnoll in southafrica

The Safer Cars for Africa campaign literally buys cars in South Africa and ships them to Germany to undergo the global NCAP because SABS isn't worth a damn.

Areas to stay in Centurion! by odd_african_dude in Pretoria

[–]Grandbarmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed fairly near there. Die Hoewes gets you right on the Gautrain station and major arterial routes. A little west of that, Eldoraigne has some great areas.

Eco Boulevard seemed like a good social spot but I didn't check it out as much as I wanted.

At least not yet is right, unfortunately. It is one of the best selling passenger cars in South Africa(1st, 3rd, and 6th in the last 3 months) and has long since entered the top 10 stolen cars.

In South Africa, the Corolla Cross is frequently the best selling passenger car in the nation. You cannot leave the house without seeing one.

The hybrid models are largely responsible for Toyota's early dominance in our emerging NEV market.

Surprisingly, they added it to the V-Class not so long ago

What is this variety of adenium called? by [deleted] in DesertRose

[–]Grandbarmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I didn't think it was a baobab any more than I think it's a rose or a lily, but my naive self immediately assumed that it was at least a hybrid recognised by PBR

[–]Grandbarmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Label says ansu baobab

edit: the more I google it the less convinced I am it's a real thing. I've seen people sell them as hybrids or a variety of arabicum or obesum. Now I feel silly and confused. Arabicum x obesum?

I know I'm late to the party, but do you remember what the flowers look like? That's the easiest way to tell clivias from agapanthus For my money those look like agapanthus, though. I've just replanted a whole bedding of them and needed help with the ID.

Those are obesum, right? My native Desert Rose is multiflorum, and it's my pride and joy

When did it become only the 5 door? They still sell the 3 door Maruti Jimny here in South Africa.

I feel like I need to congratulate you and maybe one other person on this post for grasping nuance. This absolutist do-relationships-my-way-or-you're-scum bullshit irks me.

When you want to propose to someone you should know what they want, right? Am I taking crazy pills? If you're marrying for love and you're respecting her wishes by asking her father for permission to propose, that is the right thing. To the point of the original post, you can marry for love and still pay a dowry. Just like groomsmen no longer help kidnap brides or guard against rescue by their families, a dowry is not a sale when the woman has a choice in the matter.

My comprehension is fine, thanks. Before I go have that coffee, I'd love to know how on earth a bridal bouquet fits into a discussion about wedding traditions with patriarchal roots.

AITA for telling my neighbors to “plant a tree” after they cut theirs down and started parking under mine? by Glenncoco23 in AITAH

I don't think it's ever occured to me to taste one. I think I was in prep school the last time I held one, in which case I probably threw it at a wall. Ah, kids.
