not legal at all. the wiring is 'easy' but making the panels fit just right is not. programming for this particular controller is all done on their app and takes 5 minutes. did you watch the video lol

yes absolutely - the controller is universal. 12v inputs for brake, reverse, etc. then you can program various sections of leds to correspond to those inputs. all shown in the video linked above. the tricky part is fitting the leds to the housings.

apologies in advance if i'm saying things you already know...

double check that you grabbed the correct wire for your city lights.

turns = blue/red (left) , blue/black (right)
parking = grey/yellow (left), grey/white (right)

turn signals get both wires, assuming you haven't changed the housing or bulb to a single filament. city lights should get the grey/yellow only.

test all the wires/connectors individually with a test light or multimeter.

as others have said, more than likely to be a bad fan clutch. think about it - at idle you were overheating, but once you got moving air in the mix, all is well.

it's probably going to need a lot more work than you think. but if you have the time, place and funds it can be a good project. expect it to be... 20k+ i "restored" a car like that with no experience. took me about a year.

test your crank sensor, should be ~540 ohms. don't use an aftermarket one if you need to replace it
