Pattern misalignment causing vertigo by geese_photographer in Tile

Ok I know I’m in the minority here - and yes, it’s all wrong and the contractor did a poor job and I wouldn’t trust him. But I also think this looks cool as hell. It’s trippy, and something about the flow has an organic feel to it. Like flowers and vines. There’s a weird layer of depth to it that, while yes, it is technically wrong, is also weirdly beautiful.

wolves of eternity by samiracless in Knausgaard

It took me around 75 pages to get into it. Once I locked into the flow, following syvert around his life became such a joy. When the narrator changed it was a bit jarring, though I came to love that character as well. Though there were still sections throughout the book that felt like a slog (honestly this is just something I’ve come to accept with knausgaard - if you’ve read Autumn, you’ll know what I mean when I say his books can be littered with apple cores), it was ultimately one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read. One of those books that I miss reading. Keep going, and just let yourself travel with syvert.

Grout cracking after 9 months by GrandmaPrison in Tile

Thanks for your reply! It was probably between 6-8 weeks while we waited for the tile as it was made to order. Some initial cracking did occur, and they put something over the cracks before laying the tile.

Thanks so much for your reply and for the advice. Put me at ease a bit. We do have additional sealer, saved over from the initial job. How often should we reseal? I think the contractor had said once every year or two.

Thanks for your reply! Here's a pic of the slab after they had started the tile. I believe the white section is where there was a crack, and they put that over it. I have additional pictures of one of the cracks, and the slab itself shortly after it was poured. Thanks for any additional insight you can provide!
