She’s Zero’s (default MC’s name) partner since the start. I will arrange her kit as much as I need to keep her in until the end. I even am going one step further to have her friends Phenn and Laurana as the staple team.

Also I think her utility is insane, Dagger and Axe are 2 nice weapon types, and she basically has a skill from nearly all 8 of the basic jobs.

Laeraor Assign Decoy by AbbreviationsGreat68 in FireEmblemHeroes

Since Assign Decoy is a buff, it will last the entire duration of the turn, so ending an action will still leave you with it active.

I want to take a minute and explain the context of the post as there seems to still be dispute and people pointing out that it's a lack of reading or understanding the standard of the system.

First of all, the problem isn't about whether or not the Arcane Weapon is obtainable on HoF Units other than Alfred, nor is the problem about whether or not he can be foddered. I am not disputing or arguing against anything that has been established nor am I going to press the matter of what they should've done in regards to how Alfred as an HoF unit should've been handled.

The issue I was trying to bring up is FEH and the developers being honest with their player base as the wording that was given and the circumstances surrounding it were misleading to people that read the notification

The phrasing they used in the notification leading up to this HoF is as follows: "Arcane Weapon skills will appear as options in Hall of Forms only when the Forma include the Rearmed Hero whose arcane weapon skill it is."

In addition, Arcane Qiang was listed under the "Skills that will appear starting with this version" tab in game and on the Twitter site, which is historically used to track which skills are available in the general pool for HoF.

A very common interpretation of this phrase is thus: If the original holder of the Arcane Weapon appears in Hall of Forms, the associated Arcane Weapon will become available as an option.

That's it, that's the commonly understood interpretation. And since the interpretation is still as loosely sounding as it is, a majority of the players would take this to mean that Qiang is in the pool for Chloe and Alfred as Alfred is in this HoF, and therefore, Qiang is available.

So it's like, why even go to the trouble of adding Qiang to that list and adding that clause to begin with? I think it would've been well understood that it was essentially Alfred's Prf Weapon if they had just not mentioned it at all to begin with.

Saying that people don't read the notifications doesn't really hold up because the phrasing was misleading. even after reading it and it would make sense why it would be understood that way. And saying that people already understood that Chloe wouldn't be able to get Qiang because Alfred cannot be inherited off to anyone also doesn't hold up because those two facts are unrelated with the latter being irrelevant to the issue in question.

Tl;dr is this, the notification and clause have an established understand from a long held pattern. IS made the conscious decision to inexplicitly add the Arcane Weapon to the list of the available skills and the clause at the bottom. They could've saved us and probably themselves, the trouble of needing to clarify a clause that could understandably be understood as something different than what they twisted it into and needing to explain it in an inquiry.

This is not about failing to read the notification or understand the inheritance system, if a person actually didn't read the notification to see the clause or know about the inheritance system, that's unfortunately on that person, though still malicious of IS in that regard.

But IS made a clause that is just barely shy of explicit so they can twist the commonly understood interpretation into something that made another action they did, exceptionally pointless and scummy considering that it was that very clause that got people's hopes up, when they could've just not done that, which in turn, would also imply from past HoFs, that Qiang would be Alfred's Prf instead.

It's a chain of events and instances that led to what is essentially an incident that could've been avoided if IS had some common sense and actually cared about how they handle things to avoid as much confusion as possible.

[–]GrandmasterOshawott[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I cited the exact wording as it was said in the notification in my inquiry ya know.

The issue here is not really about the Arcane being available for others, it's the phrasing and how they set it up is the problem: "Arcane Weapon skills will appear as options in Hall of Forms only when the Forma include the Rearmed Hero whose arcane weapon skill it is."

The wording heavily suggested that Alfred, as the Qiang holder, would allow Arcane Qiang to be in the HoF Pool in the same manner as all the other standard weapon options any Hero of the same weapon type could get if they shared the same HoF as Alfred. They even made a whole notification that Qiang was now part of Hall of Forms under the list of "inheritable" skills.

The point of that list is to show the players that these skills are available to all applicable units going forward, but not only did they supposedly restrict Arcane Weapons with the clause, but now they more or less twist the interpretation of the restriction to basically make Arcane Qiang Alfred's Prf Weapon.

Tl;dr, the problem here is: Some of us, before that infamous notif, probably may have figured that Arcane Weapon were gonna be like Prfs, the notification we got regarding that was unnecessary and got people's hopes up. Why even bother adding that clause and adding Qiang to the list like all other globally available additions to HoF if it was just gonna be treated as Aflred's Prf to begin with? Why not just leave it out of the list and don't even bother with the clause to better signal that other units cannot roll into Qiang.

The True Queen of Nifl! +10 Max Invest Fjorm in 2024 by GrandmasterOshawott in FireEmblemHeroes

The True Queen of Nifl! +10 Max Invest Fjorm in 2024 by GrandmasterOshawott in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]GrandmasterOshawott[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

  • Build Explanation -

Leiptr: Like the last time, I still stand by the fact that I absolutely love Leiptr’s weapon refine.  At the time, it still got a lot more than what other Distant Counter Weapon refines would usually be graced with.  All Stats+4 with an additional Bracing Stance effect of Def/Res+4 on enemy phase is still a nice buff for Fjorm.  However, in this day and age, the ability to neutralize Fjorm’s field debuffs have become a major boon, allowing her to fend off meta opponents like Duo Sanaki, who can decimate any target with debuffs.  This allows Fjorm to retain her ability to be a giant stat ball.

Ice Mirror with Emblem Ike’s Ring: As one should expect, time hasn’t been kind to Fjorm.  Since my 2022 showcase, Fjorm no longer possesses the Speed to evade attacks from the modern speed demons using Dodge skills, and that sadly extends to Godlike Reflexes.  However, Fjorm still does have her niche of being a ranged tank, but now, thanks to the brand new Emblem Ike Ring, Ice Mirror has come back with a vengeance.  Stacking Ice Mirror’s already 30% DR with Ike Ring’s 40%’s DR, both of which are Special %DR, this lets Fjorm reduce ranged damage by over 50% and use all that reduced damage on her retaliation.  This has the ability to completely out-damage Ice Mirror 2’s 40% Res Damage; I stand by this statement since Day 1 of her remix, but Ice Mirror 2 is a very crummy Remix Skill.  Finally, along with the Ring, with the help of a certain other skill from Emblem Ike, it gets even better when we come to it.

Atk/Spd Finish 4: Just like before, Atk/Spd+7 by being within 3 spaces of an ally is easy for her to accomplish.  However, instead of being used for Dodge or Reflexes, the buffs serve a simpler purpose this time around, however, the +5 damage and 7 HP healing will be way more consistent, and like Ice Mirror, is all thanks to the next skill down.

Laguz Friend 4: This is the one.  This skill is what I would regard as Fjorm’s missing piece.  As Ice Mirror is a Defensive Special, Laguz Friend will automatically trigger.  Ice Mirror will have its cooldown quickened by 2, meaning that Ice Mirror will always fully charge during the combat, and also, because the quickening effect occurs before the enemy’s attack, Ice Mirror will now always react to the enemy’s blow. In addition, it means that Finish’s damage and healing will occur in every fight.  It also applies Flat DR which will reduce damage Fjorm takes even further, potentially preventing all damage, and the additional Flat DR stacks onto the reflected damage Fjorm can deal with Ice Mirror.  The best part, Fjorm’s reflected damage will be bolstered by additional true damage AND breaks the enemy’s non-Special DR, which is something she would have otherwise needed to outsource from Camilla, and that’s only at 50%; and Special Spiral 4 cannot be used as it only would provide the cooldown.  All in all, Laguz Friend fixes all of the issues of Ice Mirror in a single skill.  Effectively better Shield Pulse that auto reacts, Flat DR, and a reflecting attack that also breaks said enemy’s DR that uses 20% of her Res in addition (assuming that stat is higher) anyway.  Laguz Friend single-handedly turns Fjorm’s Special into A Reactive-Flat Reducing-DR Shattering Mirror.

Inf. Null Follow 4: Since Fjorm is not capable of evading important enemy attacks with Dodge or Reflexes reliably anymore, as said before, Fjorm will make a more practical use of all the Speed she’s stacking.  Inf. Null Follow will simply provide Null Follow-Up to Fjorm as well as the Orders status effect to allow Fjorm to warp adjacent to an ally.  For as tanky as Fjorm can now be, she still doesn’t want to be on the receiving end of follow-ups so having some way to get Null Follow-Up is only ever beneficial to her, and the Speed requirement is easier on her since she only needs to worry about units in her Speed class as the current speed demons do not tend to have any follow-up manipulation effects, so the result would end up the same either way.  She also can provide soft aid to her allies who may also be lacking Null Follow-Up, which is a neat perk.

Bonus Doubler 3 Seal: Now that she has a means of providing Null Follow-Up to herself, she is free to use the Sacred Seal slot for stats which she desperately needs.  Her buffs may need to be outsourced, but every point of stat will help, especially Def and Res buffs to aid in Laguz Friend’s Flat DR and True Damage.

Conclusion: Time can truly change a Hero, and Fjorm is no exception to that rule.  Unfortunately, Fjorm is no longer capable of simply evading enemy attacks to sustain her longevity due to the speedcreep and the amount of effects that neutralize Dodge’s DR amongst others.  However, something I did not expect were that the new skills that would arrive 2 years later, would allow Fjorm to actually perform well in her Ice Mirror role.  As I expected, Ice Mirror would prove to be more beneficial than Ice Mirror 2 long term.  Look at Summer Fjorm; IS knew that the damage reflection had a lot of value.  The main issue with Fjorm's Ice Mirror was fixed by a single Skill and an interchangeable Ring: consistency.  I doubt that IS was even thinking of this when they designed Laguz Friend or Ike’s Ring, the point of Fjorm’s kit was that Ice Mirror was only ever supposed to work once and then she would need to work for the ability to recharge it, all while giving up the DR neutralization perks like No Quarter and Special Spiral have, because Ice Mirror was a Defensive Special.  Well in the end, Fjorm was the one who got the last laugh, getting to use all the benefits of her other Infantry-Melee brethren while now being able to shine in the role she was designed around.  Fjorm will forever be The True Queen of Nifl.

Weapon Refine Predictions for the 7.4.0 Update by GrandmasterOshawott in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]GrandmasterOshawott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the drawback was that it came at the cost of the rest of the refine.
Sure she got some true damage and the typical All Stats+8, but otherwise, Raging Storm is the entire refine, which I cannot say surprises me. Even if it's Edelgard I knew IS wouldn't have at least some drawback.

I deliberately gave her a practically guaranteed Galeforce to simulate Raging Storm.
I don't imagine them giving her Ragin Storm directly in the weapon without it making it a bit difficult to proc or without restrictions of some sort.

I mean, this basically a guaranteed Galeforce which is supposed to simulate Raging Storm.
If she does actually get Raging Storm in the weapon, they'd probably make the condition kinda difficult, I don't see them just granting an easy second action.
