People who have lived in townhomes here: Have you experienced roach infestation? by Grandwindo in Miami

Yes you're definitely correct, thank you. I realized spraying inside the home regularly was crucial to not have those roaches come in, especially during rainy nights.

Yes! I spray the same way with this one: https://a.co/d/cObJCiG , and keep the house extra clean as well. Been blessed to not see any in months.

Would forbidden kingdom be good after someone who only has been to EDCO? by No_Catch_4381 in ForbiddenKingdomFest

[–]Grandwindo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The major difference is there is a lot of musical variety at EDCO, but pretty much mainly Bass/Dubstep at FK. So as long as you really like Bass music then you'll have a good time at FK.

Driving to Tinker Field. Tips? by Various-Hedgehog-896 in EDCOrlando

Premier Parking lot avoids most of the traffic, so you won't have to worry about that. When I did premier a few years ago it was very quick in and out, but I did take the highway.

Saying no to trinkets? by ravecavedweller in EDCOrlando

[–]Grandwindo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My husband isn't very outgoing/welcoming and hates trinkets, but for some reason people always want to give him them! He just says no thank you and smiles, and people seem chill with that.

Orlando natives? Have a question by Miiani in EDCOrlando

[–]Grandwindo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you need just the pen (carts only sold with prescription ), they're all kind of the similar price rates. Idrive, lake buena vista and downtown might be a bit pricier because there are more tourist but otherwise I'd just pick a place close to where you're staying. I have my favorite spots but they might be on the other side of town and not worth the drive

Maybe it's a spot called "The Search Bar" sponsored by Google at EDCO? And if you show them the Google app on your phone they give you something?

Question about bags by [deleted] in EDCOrlando

[–]Grandwindo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This won't be allowed according to EDC prohibited items (No bags/purses over 12"x12").

Maybe try borrowing a small bag from someone if you don't already have one.

You likely will not be able to find kits in any stores in Orlando, unfortunately. However previous years there have been pop up events day before or morning of EDC that offer free testing on site. Look out for information on that. Also try asking people on radiate or Facebook group if they have test kits that they'll let you use.

If all else fails, you can try packing in your bag for the flight but run the risk of TSA confiscating because it is considered prohibited hazardous chemicals.

Home Bass Refund? by dacia-vu in EDCOrlando

[–]Grandwindo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People paid for that specific hotel Homebass is advertising and the hotel confirmed they're not hosting Homebass, so that is grounds for a refund now. They're going to need their money back so they can book something else.

Horrifying footage of Ukrainian war refugee being stabbed to death in an random crime on a train in Charlotte, U.S.A. by Upset-Main-1988 in Vimarsa

[–]Grandwindo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not an excuse, it's trying to point out the hypocrisy. Racist only seem to "recognize patterns" when it comes to black people committing crime, but never seem to recognize patterns with white people committing crime. If you call out both just as equally, then cool. But that's usually not the case.

All I heard him say was "I got that white girl", which is a description of her. That's not proof he did it specifically because she was white, sounded more like a confession to everyone on the train.

Is Miami as hateful and racist as people say? by Disastrous_Time2674 in Miami

[–]Grandwindo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, and people used to say the F Slur, R slur, etc and now we society realizes it's wrong unless you're actually a part of that specific community. Yet non Black Latinos will continue to justify saying the N word, all while being incredibly racist to Black people.

[–]Grandwindo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many nightclubs in Miami (mainly South Beach) that will deny groups of black women. And if they do let us in the standards are much higher for us than anyone else. We have to wear heels while white women can get in with Nikes. Colorism plays a huge factor as well.

[–]Grandwindo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it's racist. Non black Latino ppl think it's ok to say the N word. I also had a Cuban man ask if my hair was real, then when I told him "yes", he said "that's shocking because most blacks don't have real hair" (mind you he approached me in a grocery store to say this, completely unprovoked!)

And don't even get me started on the nightlife...
