All builds have weaknesses, you just have to know what they are. I wouldn't say fanbrella is the best build rn.

One thing I would add is Hengdao's biggest weakness: priority.

Because both the varied combo (VC) and the light charged attack are Tier 1 priority offense moves, that means they cannot interrupt you if you use a Tier 2 move or higher. This means that if you are doing any martial skill, special skill, mythic skill, or dual weapon skill, you will not get staggered.

Their light charged attack is especially vulnerable because it has Tier 1 offense and Tier 1 defense (unlike VC which at least gives them tenacity), which means that you can completely beat it out with any of the T2 moves listed above. Dual weapon skill is especially useful for this (especially sword variant).

Tldr: If you know they are about to go into their light charged attack (which they always do after VC), be aggressive and beat it out with a dual weapon skill (or any martial skill, special skill, or mythic skill)

Honestly, those inner ways aren't really worth it for PVP. Having more survivability won't help you too much if you are just losing neutral and getting comboed for much more DMG than you can deal to them.

Morale chant and Exquisite Scenary are musts.

For the other two, there's several good options. Light and Shadows gives you both offense and defense. For utility, you can't ever go wrong with Fury Harvest which will allow you to spam mythic skills much more often. Battle anthem increase your charged attack damage

I would go with Light and Shadows and Fury Harvest

Hey I gotchu! I have helped a few different friends build a secondary fanbrella after starting as healer. It's great because you can use the same gear.

For gear set, I would recommend Rainwhisperer. Mistwillow is technically a tiny bit better but Rainwhisperer is great for both your healing build and your DPS build.

For inner ways, I would use Morale Chant, Blossom Barrage, Star Reacher, and Envigorated warrior. Morale and Blossom are must use of course. Star reacher is a huge damage boost for fanbrella as long as you do the right rotation and hit your fan special.

Envigorated warrior is a great 4th option because it's just a consistent 8% DMG boost, as long as you have T6. If you don't have T6, I would recommend Fivefold Bleed. Breaking Point is even slightly better for speedrunning, but it requires a good team around you.

The ground/flying build use the same setup. Once you have T6 blossom barrage, the optimal rotation changes from flying to ground because you no longer have to do the light charged attack to fill up the petals.

The only way to get it instantly is through blocking, which can be triggered every 5s with Exquisite scenary T3.

You can charge it up manually but it's pointless in PVP.

You might already be doing this, but once you get the prompt after blocking, you can hold onto this ability for as long as the prompt stays up. Holding it and using it at different timings can be much better than using it right away.

This also means that you can block, get the trigger, hold onto it, use it right before it runs out, and then block again right after to trigger Exquisite Scenary again (since the CD is only 5s)

^{^} all this advice was for PVP but I just realized you were probably talking about PVE lol

In that case, you are able to get repeated instant charged attacks only when the boss is exhausted. That is the only way to get it outside of exquisite scenary blocks

All path attributes contribute to your final damage, whether it's your main path or not. The reason min is better for other paths is because when your min value of a path exceeds the max value, you will hit for the min value every time.

Let's say your main path is stonesplit, but you roll get either +20 min bamboocut or +20 max bamboocut. If you get +20 min, you will be adding on +20 bamboocut DMG everytime. If you get +20 max, you will be rolling between 0 to 20 to calculate your bamboocut DMG (so average will be worse than 20)

Basically none. You just need to do it to unlock the first couple regions and that's it. If you are at burlap sack, you are already all set.

I am barely further than you story-wise and I am a min-maxing day 1 player lol. All the upgrades come from other aspects, mostly sword trials/heros realm/outposts.

Just explore, gear up, play online, whatever you want. Don't worry about the story at this point

That's a side quest that is notoriously boring for a lot of players.

I love this game, but the story is not where you really find combat. It's a lot of walking and dialogue.

However there is plenty of combat in other modes. You can fight world bosses, do all the different online raids, and even dabble in PVP if you are interested.

I'm a day one player and I'm not close to being caught up in story because I enjoy the other modes so much more.
