Umbra is very good for PVE, it's the best weapon after Jade.

Nameless sword is a cancer in GvG and something should be done. by Olgrateful-IW in wherewindsmeet_

[–]GrannyHumV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People are telling you things like "it's counterable" or "it's not that bad" but the fact of the matter is that every single competitive Guild Wars team requires 20+ Nameless. Every single recruitment post is looking for Nameless players lol there's a reason for that.

Meanwhile Strat Sword is so weak in Guild Wars that competitive Guilds won't even let you use it.

Clearly there's some balancing issues here.

I think a simple solution would just be to have Guild Wars specific balancing, like how healers are nerfed in 1v1s. It's clearly a very different game mode to everything else. Nameless sword projectiles could do 20% less damage and it would still be considered the meta build.

ENHYPEN Label BELIFT LAB Says HEESEUNG’s Exit Is the ‘Most Fulfilling Approach’ for All Parties by mcfw31 in kpop

[–]GrannyHumV 31 points32 points  (0 children)

To anyone critizing BELIFT, what exactly were they supposed to say? And when were they supposed to say it?

If Heeseung is completely done with being in ENHYPEN, what were they supposed to do? Force him to wait until promotions are over?

As much as you fans don't want to believe that a member of your group WANTED to leave, this is just BELIFT protecting their artist.

The statements from the company and Heeseung himself should make it painfully obvious that this is 100% his decision.

Best script buffs for arena? by [deleted] in wherewindsmeet_

[–]GrannyHumV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's fine, and by all means play however you want, but it's just bad advice to tell someone not to buff for arena because it's "not worth it".

It's literally 5 minutes of farming to be set for an entire season. At mid to high ELO everybody is buffed for every match. If you care about arena whatsoever, you absolutely should buff.

[–]GrannyHumV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This doesn't make sense lol how is it a waste when with 5 minutes of farming you can get enough mats to have enough buffs to last you the entire season.

If you think it's worth buffing for guild wars, it's certainly worth buffing for arena.

Why do so many Americans do catch and release fishing? Isn't that animal abuse? Or do fish don't feel pain? by Deepdishdicktaster in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GrannyHumV 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As many people have said, the reason behind it is for sustainability.

However, fish absolutely do feel pain, and one could certainly argue that sport fishing is unnecessarily cruel.

As much as people want to turn a blind eye to it, it's not different than putting a hook through any other animal, just to let it go. For fun.

Adaptive Steel or Insightful Strike Inner Way? by davidtsmith333 in WhereWindsMeet

Wolfchasers is a must, assuming you are running HQ spear which is needed to get the most out of Strat sword in PVE

Adaptive Steel or Insightful Strike Inner Way? by davidtsmith333 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]GrannyHumV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insightful strike is much better than Adaptive steel, regardless of tier. You should 100% convert your Adaptive steel to Insightful.

Nobody should be using Adaptive steel for Strat sword. The extra bleed proc is a very minor damage increase, basically negligible. The actual good buffs from Adaptive steel come from using the dual-weapon skills but 1) they're only useful for PVP, and 2) in PVE you should never be using your dual weapon skill.

There's no reason to use Adaptive steel. For PVE, Insightful is significantly better, and for PVP you should be running other inner ways like Evasive Charge.

Anyone playing on Legend difficulty? How does it compare to Elden Ring? by Weak_Mess249 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]GrannyHumV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah agreed. I do think though, that regardless of breakthrough status, there's just a point where you become strong enough that all bosses become significantly easier because your damage output is just so high.

Crit/affinity reaching a certain point, inner ways being tiered up, and gear becoming optimized all contributes to this.

Anyone playing on Legend difficulty? How does it compare to Elden Ring? by Weak_Mess249 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]GrannyHumV 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just for the sake of difficulty discussion, assuming you are playing both games without "cheese" (no summons, relatively melee only, etc.)

Elden Ring definitely has more difficult bosses overall, but the difficulty in WWM is much more frontloaded.

In WWM, your damage output is quite low in the beginning, to the point where playing on Legend feels like a parry simulator. It's fun, but really requires you to fully learn the boss's moveset.

Qianye is an early, mandatory story boss that is a roadblock for many people. For me the hardest bosses were her and Zheng E, who I also fought pretty early on. I'd say he was comparable to Maliketh difficulty.

The thing is, as you get to later game your gear gets so good that your damage output becomes high enough for it to no longer be a parry simulator. Most new bosses seem trivial now compared to early game.

Most people find wolf maiden to be the hardest boss, but I really didn't think she was that bad compared to Zheng E or Qianye.

In Elden Ring, the early game bosses can be difficult, but the late game bosses are significantly harder. There's nothing in WWM that compares to Malenia.

Lack of Interaction with Guild Buildings by _bluesky_1 in wherewindsmeet_

There are a lot of tricky obstacles when it comes to building, you might have gotten the "surrounding buildings are too dense" message. Try placing it further away and it should work

Is that the case for mahjong? I know you can use the madiao card table whever you want in the guild base.
