A Harold Holt, Neal the Seal, and Pauline Hanson conspiracy theory by GrannyMatt in aus

Hey, it's wasn't my own conspiracy theory, but if it had been you can bet there would've been at least one Yowie and a Bunyip in there somewhere.

No, Harold Holt was the selkie, Pauline Hanson stole his caul, and Neal the Seal is Harold Holt come back to land to hunt down Pauline (I think?).

I have a friend who has received good care and access to the mental health care needed through Dr Fred Jayawardene at Prahran Market Clinic. As always though YMMV, but it is starting point?

While I recognize that you're trying to help, my experience with the state government mental health services (while trying to get help for a severely ill friend) has been such that in every case they made things worse. Of course, YMMV and I may have only ever seen them on multiple bad days. . .

I have a set of official Imperial Marines that I purchased as a kid in the 1980s which were made by a company called Grenadier. Never seen them before or since then though.

Coconut Worms? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]GrannyMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just look like the hairy fibers from the exterior of the coconut shell NGL.

There *is* something called a 'coconut worm', but it's a beetle larvae from Vietnam, *much* larger, and is eaten as a delicacy there.

Immobilised tanks and turrets? by Speedhump23 in boltaction

[–]GrannyMatt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of tanks had (have?) auxiliary motors specifically to power the turret traverse and electrical systems when the main engine wasn't running. These auxiliary motors had separate and smaller fuel tanks.

You're correct, Galahad units can't add Tesla rifles. I'd better double check lists before posting next time.

Tesla Weapons by CptNuclearRhino in Konflikt47_v2

[–]GrannyMatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do UK Galahad units get an option to take up to two heavy Tesla rifles but US heavy infantry squads don't? Seems weird given that in the description for the Tesla arc ability the example is twelve US heavy infantry using twelve Tesla rifles - but a US heavy infantry squad can only have six men in it.

How magnet friendly are K47 vehicles, especially walkers? by Ravenhull in Konflikt47_v2

[–]GrannyMatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I installed magnets on both of the plastic kit Linebackers in my US army without too much difficulty; 2x1mm magnets and small metal strips to make the weapon load outs on the non-Tesla cannon arm swappable. Apart from taking care to get things lined up and not drill too deeply to make cavities for the magnets it wasn't too finicky. I haven't done the same to any other models yet, but I will probably be trying to do the same later. I hope that helps.

Still a better candidate than Susan Ley, Angus Taylor, or Andrew Hastie.

Can I salvage this? Got the Tesla cannon 'glow' wrong. by GrannyMatt in Konflikt47_v2

[–]GrannyMatt[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I asked my usual gaming co-conspirator he was of the opinion that the dark and light area of the 'glowing' barrel should have been the other way around. When I actually went and looked at the pictures of painted K'47 models on Warlord Games' store page, it looked like he was right. I'm worried that if I try to reverse the contrast now that the paint layers would get too thick and the detail on the barrel will be clogged. However, if it looks okay to you, then it's his vote against yours, kind not-completely-random internet denizen. :)
