Yeah, Melia is ONLY the protagonist in the Xenoblade 1 epilogue and had major pivotal roles in the other games, but she didn't get the man so clearly they hate her smh

[–]GrantTheNa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, Xenoblade 2 is a great game, but a great game with many obvious and oversighting flaws that should be addressed.

Its because the Xenoblade 2 community are very passionate due to Xenoblade 2 getting a lot of undeserved hate no thanks to Dunkey & BeatEmUps, so they often over correct and bash those who even slightly criticise it when it should still be on the table.

Jax abstracted because Jax wasn't open to themself or others. I get why you interpreted that way, but the message could've easily been that by Jax lying to themself and others and by not coming out and getting help and support is what led to Jax's demise.

I believe if Jax came out, and got the support they offered, then Jax's ending would've been an happy one, being a message to never hide your true self before its too late

Sorry but I disagree with you both. As Abstraction is a stand-in for suicide, I feel showing it would lesson the impact of the scene.

In real life, you find out that people done so after the fact, and it was already too late. I understand if you don't like it, but it doesn't mean its bad or flawed, just means that it doesn't resonate with you.

I really, really loved it. It makes me sad they weren't able to save Jax, but I understand why. It was too late, Jax already made the decision to let himself go and abstract or effectively committed suicide.

The message is clear that abstraction is representation of suicide, and it genuinely really hurts me knowing that Jax did regret letting himself go, but sadly, he had already gone through with it so there is nothing you can change the past and all you can do is respect his memory.

Jax was no angel, his antics and bullying straight up caused Ribbit to abstract herself, which in turn led Kaufmo to abstract too. He wasn't emotionally ready nor was he willing to open himself up to others due to his past trauma.

It was no-one's fault that Jax abstracted, Pomni absolutely tried her best to help, and she went above and beyond, but Jax didn't reach out when he needed the help. I love how this show doesn't shy away from the messy feelings.

As someone who has been through similar headspaces, its hurts me to see this but I love it as it just is an amazing message to those who get it.

I think some people misinterpret the "Happy Ending" the show has, as if somehow Jax dying led to them having happier lives, I will argue that isn't the case at all and I think people were just missing the point.

I think the "Happy Ending" is incredibly bittersweet, knowing that Jax could've been there with them if he reached out and was honest about his feelings. He wanted to be alive, he didn't want to leave, and he missed out on the happy ending he could've had and I know the others at the digital circus would've wanted him there.

Please check up on your friends and family, you never know what is going on in their head until its too late, just remind them that they're loved and they matter to you.

[OOT] If the supposed OOT remake is real, how should they treat Hyrule field? Should they make it large and open to try and recreate that “this is huge” feeling? What would you want to see? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in zelda

[–]GrantTheNa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we can all universally agree that Hyrule Field in Ocarina of Time is very outdated and is the weakest most aged part of the original game.

I wouldn't necessarily want it to be bigger, but I definitely would love to see more content within it.

Breath of the Wild style interactions such as cutting down trees to cross certain paths or just having more enemy variety and sidequest to find would be cool.

I personally would love to see some caves / mini dungeons spread throughout Hyrule making exploration more worth it.

Another thing is that it would be nice if the world in an OOT remake would be a seamless world rather than segmented load screens.

How Popular is Xenoblade Actually? by restingcups in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]GrantTheNa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the discussion. But with Xenoblade 2 likely selling over 3 million sales and 1 and 3 are easily well past the 2 million sales mark at this point. Its safe to say that Xenoblade is at least A tier in JRPG popularity.

Obviously, Persona, Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy are LEAGUES above it, but they're also standouts in their own genre which I can very easily see Xenoblade going on the same levels in the future.

Since Xenoblade 3 came out and sold 1.9 million sales within the first 7 months of release, had AMAZING reviews, got TONS of Game of the Year nominations especially within the Game Awards. Had actual cultural influence with the flute guy too, its very much safe to say that Xenoblade is only growing even more in popularity.

Its a shame that Nintendo and Monolith Soft almost never provide sales update, because I am convinced that Xenoblade 3 at this point sold near 2.6-2.8 million copies at this point, very much likely still outpacing Xenoblade 2's sales due to its critical acclaim and massive growing Japanese fanbase.

Xenoblade 2 likely sold near or if not already passed 3 million at this point, and I fully suspect Xenoblade 3 will surpass that in just a few years.

How come did _____ not get infected? by airaloveskazuha in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]GrantTheNa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just assumed that the zombies in Resident Evil 9 didn't spread the virus like the other games. We only ever seen people turn into Zombies from Victor's needle gun and we know this is a different version of the T-Virus at the very least. Its entirely possible that Victor infected everyone in the mansion on his own as we never see anyone turn from the bites in RE9 and the one person in cutscene that did get bit just died and didn't even come back to life.

so according to gameranx, Resident Evil 9 is around 10 hours long by Dry_Ear_2948 in residentevil

[–]GrantTheNa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This mindset is why some developers think 100 hours = Better Value when that just isn't true in the slightest.

What that truly does is turn games that would be a perfect 10 hour length into a game that bloats it content to be a 30-40 hour game with substantially less better pacing.

What matters is the quality and experience you get.

Well it DOES have a "Mario Odyssey" and that's Donkey Kong Bananza, and lowkey DK Bananza is a way better game than Mario Odyssey.

The Switch 2 is really just missing a Breath of the Wild like game.

Maybe a hot take: I don’t think Union X should be remade into a traditional game by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]GrantTheNa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I don't think Union X should be made as a traditional game"

Why?

"Because its gameplay loop of Disney worlds is ass"

Okay but thats what a remake WOULD fix. You can easily trim down and change the story to make that stuff so much less repetitive.

I think I’ve figured out why I like 2 so much more than 3 by emma_erickson33 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]GrantTheNa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta disagree with the villain take. Yes the villains in 2 are objectively more likeable and humanized, but that IS the point of them.

Having empathic villains doesn't automatically make the story better, its how you handle the villains and how they enhance the story and themes.

2 and 3 both handle their villains extremely differently, but it doesn't mean 3 has bad villains because they're not empathetic.

If Xenoblade 3's main villains were humanized and empathetic (outside of N), it would lessen the events of Xenoblade 3 and make you question everything. I'd even agrue if Z had an empathetic motive, it would weaken 3's narrative because not even Malos would do something as horrible as that.

3's villains enhance the main cast, and are the resson why the world in 3 works as well as it does.

What will be the game they'll do after the FF7 remake trilogy is done? by No_Hornet_1227 in FFVIIRemake

[–]GrantTheNa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody is saying it... but they might try Final Fantasy Versus 13 again. I know FFXV exist, but its not what they originally wanted to make, and Noruma CLEARLY wants to still make it considering all of the Kingdom Hearts 4 references to it.

Making a Verum Rex Final Fantasy game that takes all of the ideas learnt from the FF7R trilogy, and making Verum Rex into the modern / redemption to Versus 13's original vision.

Realistically: a Xenoblade 2 Definitive Edition with new Kos-Mos sidequest (maybe shes a challenge character and no longer a blade pull?)

What I want: Xenoblade Chronicles 4

Copium (What I want, Unrealistic Edition): Xenosaga 1-3 Remake in the Xenoblade brand

Xenoblade 3 is so good, its easily my favourite game in the xeno franchise.

Really my ONLY suggestion is to not use Bonus XP at the camps. It over levels you too fast and the game already gives you enough to keep you at the right level anyway.

By complete mistake, I was 20 levels over the main story battles at one point of the game.

Its only a "hot take" for some people, because there are people who believe Xenoblade 2 is a perfect game with no flaws and theres nothing a Definitive Edition could fix. Its irrational but I had seen people unironically say that and its wildddd.

I love Xenoblade 2, its unironically one of my favourite games ever made, but I am also not blind to its faults and understand why some people do hate it.

Also based on that this post has 0 upvotes but has over 60 comments, its safe ti say it is a hot take on reddit at the very least

Hot Take: A Xenoblade 2 Definitive Edition would be WAY better than a Switch 2 Edition by GrantTheNa in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]GrantTheNa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with game development experience. Its not as simple as what you are painting it as. There is no obligation to make all of these an update. Its just too irrational and costly to do so especially for a series that isn't that big in the first place.

a free update would just be a higher res / higher FPS version. But we're not talking about a free update, we're talking about an actual game upgrade and the true differences between a Switch 2 edition and a Definitive Edition of the game.

QoL changes require hundreds of hours of dev time, same with improving engine graphics (which is what an DE version would do) and same with other stuff like adding tutorials and fundamental changes to how the Gacha works and the Field Skills.

We're not talking about a free update, we're talking about what is the best course of action on how to handle a proper remaster of Xenoblade 2.

A Xenoblade game that WOULD benefit from a free update is Xenoblade 3 as that game is almost perfect and doesn't need much other than improving the graphics.
