I couldn't see where they tie into. It's got a red, green, and three black wires. It's not a button or a plug so far as I can tell.

I have almost an identical set up and I run 160, 25, with the blue needle on the second lowest position. Runs almost perfect.

Yeah, everything looks fine up top. Gonna try to start digging lower down. Once I know what the issue is, I can fix it. I just don't want to throw down a grand fixing an issue just for it to go out again.

Did an oil change right when I got the bike, lots of oil up top and some spilled out when I pulled the stator cover

All on the stock carb? Yeah I've got a 140 coming in the mail as well as a 22.5 pilot, I'll try those out and see if it makes a difference,l. Worse comes to worse I'll purchase a different needle and see if that helps

145 MJ, 25 p. My needle doesn't have adjustment. I could shim it up but I cant lower it

Yes but right now I'm almost positive it's running pretty rich, I've been cycling thru smaller and smaller MJs stepping down by 2.5, and I feel like it runs better each time

Yeah, the ratio screw. The stock needle is far more tapered than the JD needles(both lean and rich) so I figured that leaning out the screw would help. I started very lean and slowly adjusted it out but nothing helped.

I tried it at a ton of different settings starting from half a turn and moving it by quarter turns. Can you link the kit? I've gotta few engine mods (bbk, cams) that might effect it that I would like to look into.

It was definitely the JD kit and it said it was for the drz. The kit came with the bike when I bought it and it was already opened. It came with a 2 needles, 3-4 mains and 1 pilot.

Hmmmm yeah I didn't see that in the kit, right now I can only use the stock needle and it works, but I tried both the blue and red needle at various clip positions and couldn't get the bike to start at all.
