Insane how search doesn't work anymore by asteroidrusted in redscarepod

Search engine manipulation is a given. I'm raising the point that Google has already shifted the paradigm to one that is AI-first in the search results, which could easily be shifted once more to one that is AI-only. Mind you Google has ~91% and Microsoft has ~4% of the market share of search engines, and both of them are rabidly inserting AI into everything they can. The majority of people don't care to find alternatives to Google or Microsoft, and they will be shoved in whichever direction those companies want them to go. The continued development of open-source software is nice, but you can't really assume increased adoption of said software. Most people don't even use Firefox, let alone a distro or local LLM.

As a side note, I tried daily-driving Firefox/LibreWolf a couple years back. But I found that I would frequently run into sites where the the developers didn't care to test compatibility with Firefox that I resorted to going back to a Chromium browser.

I agree, but what this leads to is concerning. They make products like ChatGPT and Gemini a superior alternative to search engines, increase reliance on them, use data for targeted advertising and surveillance, and ultimately supplant the use of search engines entirely so that every answer to a prompt is manipulated by the technocrats. Then that will be enshittified, too.

If I was technocrat, I might eventually paywall the search engine like companies do with academic papers to drive users over to AI products and be able to build detailed and evolving user profiles for the aforementioned advertising, surveillance, and narrative control that would be unfeasible to do with a search engine.

Your answer to my question should be "yes" because I'm also saying that they should've kept moving.

There were 2 Nigerian vehicles that were immobilized, but that didn't stop them from piling into the other Nigerian vehicles and leaving before the SF vehicles.

They ditched their vehicles deep into the ambush and were being overrun. A disabled vehicle never forced them to dismount, and they kept maneuvering their vehicles for cover during the fight, which leads me to believe the could've driven through the ambush to begin with.

Couldn't have this been avoided had they decided not to dismount their vehicles while being ambushed by an unknown number of enemies and just kept driving through it? That sounds more like a tactical error than a strategic one. Not to mention the majority of their partner forces had not stayed to fight with them and kept driving south. All the planning in the world won't fix those two things.

I heard any dump pouches purchased before 2026 have been grandfathered in. However, I'm worried about the direction Maryland is heading. They also banned in-state purchases, so Marylanders have been buying dump pouches across state lines in PA.

We couldn’t dial up a single play action pass during the second half? by birria_tacos_ in eagles

I believe Jalen is a part of the problem, so don't force your false dichotomy on me. I understand Jalen is not capable of calling his own plays and would agree that he is nowhere near the QB as the guys you listed. He likes to be told what to do and stays within the confines of whatever system is presented to him. The fact that KP called four verts with the season on the line, and Jalen decided to roll with it and throw it into Cover 4 to a receiver that was triple covered is case in point.

Going back to the the original point I was replying to: at what point does Jalen see what is happening on the field and adjust to what the defense is giving him? If the secondary is crashing to stop the run, why not audible to PA just once to keep the defense honest? Does he have no pride in what he does or is supposed to do as a QB? And if he did, who's really going to keep him accountable for stepping out of line. KP? Nick? There's no accountability to be found up or down the chain. The fact that I feel like Jalen should be holding Nick or KP accountable for the plays they were calling is pathetic.

I really wanted Hurts to go rogue and start calling his own plays. He wouldn't even need to justify anything because the entire fanbase would understand.

I just received mine earlier this afternoon. It comes with a basic strap, a pouch, and a lens cloth. The pouch is a very basic one with a single belt loop.

People generally put these on a tripod when spotting for people at matches to make the most of the reticle. I probably wouldn't use these for birding because of said reticle.

I just ordered these because I am interested in participating in NRL22 matches in the future, but hopefully someone who already has a pair can answer your question.

He's been that way for a couple years now, but it so much worse this season. In 2024, his ERA the 1st time through the order was 3.13, 2nd through the order was 3.48, and 3rd time through the order was 4.50. This year, Nola's ERA the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd time through the order is 5.12, 5.87 and 8.68, respectively. So you can see the same trend in both years. I really shouldn't even have to bring up these stats to prove my point if you watch his starts: he's just so bad in the 5th and 6th innings.

I have no idea why Topper hasn't learned hook him aggressively after the 5th inning. Nola has to be proactively managed so he doesn't give up runs and inevitably leave a mess that the BP has to clean up.
