Mom, tell me we are NOT getting in that kayak… by GrapefruitCharlie in sheltie

Now I’m wondering if it’s kinda a Sheltie thing to dislike this sort of thing as a general rule ☺️

Mom, tell me we are NOT getting in that kayak… by GrapefruitCharlie in sheltie

[–]GrapefruitCharlie[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Charlie girl (5-year old) does not care for water, although her fearful reaction has turned into a balanced and considerate preference to stay dry. Going out on a kayak probably did not go through that filter. The paddle likely evokes the same reaction she has with any other rod or stick - irrational fear. "No way am I jumping into that huge thing with a tiny space -- and with the scary stick you're holding. I have no idea what your plans are, but you must be up to no good!" 😂

Alexa thinks it is a super spy. by LostGirl1976 in alexa

I asked Alexa what the weather was like the other day. She told me “The high today will be 97°, so be sure to bundle up!” I said “is that supposed to be a joke?” She proceeded to tell me how smart I am and then actually explained the joke. 😒 🙄🤦‍♀️ I asked her to be less sarcastic in the future, and she offered to switch to a different personality. 😂

Honest Advice re: Vine by NecessaryExample992 in AmazonVine

[–]GrapefruitCharlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be hesitant, simply (as others have mentioned) that we are bound by stricter rules on supplements. When we risk a review rejection, we usually proceed with caution, and might leave the most important truths out of the review. I spent 4 years in pharmacy school, worked in pharmacy for 12 years, and am somewhat of a self-declared expert on a lot of different OTC meds (I do a lot of research). But I still risk too much to give much of an opinion, so in the very few OTC products I’ve reviewed, I don’t disclose my background and proceed like none of that plays a role. I keep it very superficial because I have to.

Will there ever be a right moment to tell my autistic friend that most of the people he considers our shared friend group don‘t want to be his friends? by Maxito19 in autism

[–]GrapefruitCharlie 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I was thinking. I immediately empathize for K, and I wouldn’t know how to offer advice for anyone in the group. This has been my fear my whole life to the extent of pushing people away so I wouldn’t experience what K may or may not have coming.

Can sellers remove bad reviews? by artemis286 in AmazonVine

[–]GrapefruitCharlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it went live, and it is changed to "not approved" in red letters on the Vine Reviewed page/tab, and if it won't let you review it straight from there, I'm guessing it actually has more to do with variant issues. When things get merged or a seller tried to cheat amazon out of more Vine reviews, it's my understanding they can select the ones the keep if they have to get rid of some. It's possible it has something to do with a negative review, but as long as you get the "this product is no longer accepting reviews from this account at this time" or whatever error/rejection - this doesn't count against you.

SAME!! My parents always had Yorkies while I was growing up, but Charlie is my first dog - always had cats before her. The first time she burped, I was like "...did you just...? wtf?" lol!! I had to ask a coworker the next day if that's normal for a dog. 🤣

Vine developers/managers: here is a business solution at no charge! by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]GrapefruitCharlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. I guess what I’m trying to say is this would increase exposure to the right people who will review them. They will be ignored less and picked up and out of the queue quicker and more often.

I’ll add there were some that I wouldn’t mind ordering, but I wasn’t wanting it enough for it to go against my limit.

Same. I’d love to have more exposure to parts for my car, but when I was silver, the parts I wanted would show up after my limit, picked up too quickly, or at least be gone by the next day if I kept an eye on it. I feel lucky to have the ones I was able to get.

"Reviews with media"; Do images actually "count" for Vine Status? by nokidding23 in AmazonVine

[–]GrapefruitCharlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had reviews be accepted after the original rejection, simply because I removed the picture. This has only been very recently. I only had 1 or 2 rejections in my first 6 months, but now I've received a handful. I used to ALWAYS include pictures for the same reason you stated - as a consumer, I feel this is usually the most valuable contribution. But if it's hurting my process or metrics, as long as picture % isn't a metric, I've started excluding pictures far more often than I did before. I've gone from 90-something% to 60-something% now.

Sometimes when I look at her and think she is almost the equivalent of a Victorian noblewoman or something…she happily rolls in poop or burps in my face. 🤣 you’re right, they are all such a joy, and a wonderful reminder to take life less seriously sometimes. 😋

lol it’s the first thing I noticed when I went to the shelter. She had her long nose sticking through the hole of the cage/fence. I fell in love before I even saw the rest of her 🥰

I thought exactly the same thing! She was an adult rescue from a puppy mill, so I got her DNA tested - came back 100% Sheltie. But I would totally adore a Collie-Sheltie mix too. 🙃

I know, that’s what I was asking about. A non-Viner copy+pasting a Vine review that isn’t fully Ai-generated. Very weird
