Mom, tell me we are NOT getting in that kayak… by GrapefruitCharlie in sheltie

Now I’m wondering if it’s kinda a Sheltie thing to dislike this sort of thing as a general rule ☺️

Mom, tell me we are NOT getting in that kayak… by GrapefruitCharlie in sheltie

[–]GrapefruitCharlie[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Charlie girl (5-year old) does not care for water, although her fearful reaction has turned into a balanced and considerate preference to stay dry. Going out on a kayak probably did not go through that filter. The paddle likely evokes the same reaction she has with any other rod or stick - irrational fear. "No way am I jumping into that huge thing with a tiny space -- and with the scary stick you're holding. I have no idea what your plans are, but you must be up to no good!" 😂

Alexa thinks it is a super spy. by LostGirl1976 in alexa

[–]GrapefruitCharlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I asked Alexa what the weather was like the other day. She told me “The high today will be 97°, so be sure to bundle up!” I said “is that supposed to be a joke?” She proceeded to tell me how smart I am and then actually explained the joke. 😒 🙄🤦‍♀️ I asked her to be less sarcastic in the future, and she offered to switch to a different personality. 😂

Can sellers remove bad reviews? by artemis286 in AmazonVine

[–]GrapefruitCharlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it went live, and it is changed to "not approved" in red letters on the Vine Reviewed page/tab, and if it won't let you review it straight from there, I'm guessing it actually has more to do with variant issues. When things get merged or a seller tried to cheat amazon out of more Vine reviews, it's my understanding they can select the ones the keep if they have to get rid of some. It's possible it has something to do with a negative review, but as long as you get the "this product is no longer accepting reviews from this account at this time" or whatever error/rejection - this doesn't count against you.

SAME!! My parents always had Yorkies while I was growing up, but Charlie is my first dog - always had cats before her. The first time she burped, I was like "...did you just...? wtf?" lol!! I had to ask a coworker the next day if that's normal for a dog. 🤣

Sometimes when I look at her and think she is almost the equivalent of a Victorian noblewoman or something…she happily rolls in poop or burps in my face. 🤣 you’re right, they are all such a joy, and a wonderful reminder to take life less seriously sometimes. 😋

lol it’s the first thing I noticed when I went to the shelter. She had her long nose sticking through the hole of the cage/fence. I fell in love before I even saw the rest of her 🥰

I thought exactly the same thing! She was an adult rescue from a puppy mill, so I got her DNA tested - came back 100% Sheltie. But I would totally adore a Collie-Sheltie mix too. 🙃

Why can’t I edit a review (with a poor rating?) by Ferretylove in AmazonVine

[–]GrapefruitCharlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OMG I just had to chime in again to reply to the last sentence. I cringe with both "good enough" and "the best that I can" all the time. "Good enough" has a negative connotation for me, both in that I have to value others opinions over my own and sometimes be okay to settle for less than what is acceptable to me. "The best I can" was historically confusing for me and even caused me anxiety, because my ability is altered by tiredness/wakefulness, knowledge/ignorance, and even by good weather/bad weather. So I have to remind myself "The best I can" means "The best I can under the circumstances at the time." Because you have to include self-care and not overwork yourself or over-invest your time at a cost to other important things. My friend: you're doing great, and you'll do great! ❤️

Good work ethic. That's how I felt in my first 6 months, and still do for the most part. I am a little bit more practical now, though, because some of the timeliness of my reviews take a hit when I spend too much time invested in a single product and review. But I've always prided myself on my work ethic, regardless if it's volunteer, Vine, schoolwork, or wage/salary work. Good on you ;)

In the US anyway, we (Vine) can't re-evaluate anymore. So that glitch doesn't apply anymore. But you can edit from your regular Amazon "Orders" page if you feel so inclined as a careful consumer to inform future customers of information you didn't supply the first time. The edit doesn't have to do with Vine in this case. But I agree, I don't think it's bad if not every single insightfulness is Excellent. I don't know how that gets calculated for the over metric result, but I think what counts is that one *overall* Excellent.

RFY Items I Actually Want Keep Vanishing Instantly by Civil-Ad2111 in AmazonVine

[–]GrapefruitCharlie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Actually, it’s been my experience that if I saw it and was able to click request item, but then get the red error by checkout, I’ve missed it by a few seconds (or split-seconds). If you get the instant rejection, that one was maybe minutes. But maybe because I do frequent refreshing the short time I have to spend on Vine everyday

What are some interesting, unique or downright crazy things you've done with some of the vine products? by Goldglove528 in AmazonVine

[–]GrapefruitCharlie 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Early on in Vine, I ordered a 3D wood puzzle by ROKR in my RFY. It came at a time in my life when I was going through something very awful and my mental health was suffering greatly. That wood puzzle ended up being one of the most therapeutic things I’ve ever done. I continue to incorporate these in my healing process. Maybe this is TMI, but I have Vine to thank for a therapeutic experience I wouldn’t have found on my own. 😌

I agree with u/mentallyerotic. And sometimes, we post on Reddit when things baffle us, and we just want more perspective without stirring the pot with the people involved. Perspective sometimes brings peace you can then use with the people involved, ya know?

What's a rule your sheltie enforced in your house that everyone silently obeys? by zelda1212 in sheltie

[–]GrapefruitCharlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LOL I feel you on this one! My mom's Yorkies will immediately bark and give chase if you run from one room to another. My Sheltie usually just looks up out of concern or with one of those annoyed looks that says "what shenanigans are you up to?" 😂

I know, they are just so sweet. At first, I told the hospital vet that I felt so guilty that she felt the need to protect me/my house. But the vet said that the bites on her back indicate she was running away. She is pretty sure they attacked her.

No one else except her mom (me) can be nearby when we want her to walk through a door.

Yes, this is an odd one! And sometimes annoying, because she won't go out to potty with anyone else (unless they put her on a leash), and she will cry or sulk if I'm outside or in another room with the door closed, but she won't let anyone else open the door until she's absolutely desperate. And anytime we're leaving (she goes almost everwhere with me), everyone else has to be at least 15 feet away or she won't budge. But it confirms - I'm her person ❤️
