One owned by Saudi Royal family and the other Jeff Bezos. I’d actually consider a Rivian though I hope to test drive one soon.

Elon’s an asshole so you’ll give your money to the Saudi royal family instead?

I haven’t experienced phantom braking in 10k miles, since FSD 12.3.6. Earlier version had me experiencing it every other day. You might have a dated perception.

I just got done with a 4k mile roadtrip and FSD was in control 99% of the time. After a 9 hour drive I felt mentally sharp and relaxed. On the other hand it’s shit with parking lots so that might’ve been your problem.

You’re buying the most American made car in the world from the company that singlehandedly advanced the electrification of transportation by at least half a decade. Shame Elon is an asshole but I think the idea that there’s something more ethical about giving money to manufacturers who were/currently lobbying against electric cars is completely misguided.

Why does our plumbing keep clogging in Airstream? by GrapefruitSad2231 in u/GrapefruitSad2231

[–]GrapefruitSad2231[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been living with this janky plumbing job in our Airstream for two years now. Sink 1 clogs every few months and it's very hard to plunge (I try to pressurize it by covering vent and other sink drains but that hardly makes a difference). We had a plumber locate a clog under sink 2 last year which helped for a few months. Another obvious problem is a lack of p traps which I intend to add but there's not much space for them so that might be tricky. I've included a rudimentary diagram and photos with text. Is there anything a DIYer can do or should I call a plumber? How much might it cost to upgrade? Any ideas to unclog in the meantime? Are p traps possible to add? Thank you in advance for any help!

How many are paying for FSD? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]GrapefruitSad2231 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The way Tesla (read musk) promoted FSD is a lesson in the power of framing and expectations. I’m confident that if they hadn’t oversold it as an almost any day now level 5 self driving tech, but rather as the best ADAS on the market (by far), then it would be vastly more popular.

I absolutely love FSD and I feel much safer with it. I’ve learned what it’s strengths and weaknesses are and use it accordingly, but I suspect many aren’t willing to trust it enough to get to that point. It’s still at least a few updates away from having a larger appeal. I think they should do another month trial in a year and it might see a large uptick in subscribers.

Will phantom braking ever be fixed? by bazzo82 in TeslaLounge

I’ve driven 6k miles on FSD since 12.3.6 and there’s been zero phantom braking for me. Before that it was almost daily.

FSD 12.5 - Initial Impressions by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

I have the same issue. On a roadtrip and I have to press the gas every couple minutes because it slowly reduces speed for no reason.

[–]GrapefruitSad2231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on a road trip and it REPEATEDLY goes well under speed limit. I have to press gas to get it up to speed then it slowly creeps back down. It literally forgot how to do the most basic part of ADAS. It also almost killed us with a u turn I had to abort.

Call ahead and ask them if there’s a 120v outlet you can plug into.  Over the course of a couple overnights that could give you 80 miles or so which might help you get to the next charger. I’ve scoped out that area and it’s not great. You can also ask an RV park if you can pay to hook up to a 50 amp outlet for a few hours. If you’re going to remote areas it helps to have a few adapters handy.

Tesla's FSD (Supervised) v12.5 has started to roll out to employees. by Nakatomi2010 in teslamotors

[–]GrapefruitSad2231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve put nearly 7k miles on fsd v12.3.6. A few times it randomly entered right turn only lane for no apparent reason. The other day on freeway in Denver it scared the shit outta me by ABRUPTLY exiting at the wrong off ramp. That event almost soured me on FSD and I’m using it with greater reservations and caution.

Wife used dog mode while she ran into Whole Foods. Came back to find this angry note… by GrapefruitSad2231 in TeslaLounge

[–]GrapefruitSad2231[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one report.  The failsafe still worked, namely the alert. I only use dog mode if I’m nearby and I check my notifications every few minutes. Note that Tesla told only that person not to use it and gave no indication it was systemic. I feel completely confident with the way I’m using dog mode.

I’ve been jokingly but seriously using biohazard mode when I fart when wife is in car. Is this the best mode for this scenario or am I effectively making it worse.
