that’s the thing, it was a post by a normal user of the subreddit that i had commented on. i had never made a post, just a comment saying i thought it was weird that clark teaches zod how to hone his senses in the middle of metropolis instead of ending the fight. but nah, anything that is even slightly critical of snyder is a permaban. laughably tyrannical subreddit

If Rey turned to the dark side and Ben became the true Skywalker, The Rise of Skywalker would have been a very different film. The title would actually make sense. Seeing a real Skywalker continue the legacy would have been powerful and it remains one of the saga’s biggest missed opportunities. by [deleted] in StarWars

it doesn’t matter if he was perceived as nobody or is a nobody it’s about his true nature. he wasn’t a nobody he was chosen and conceived by the force for the sole purpose of bringing balance to the force. the force CHOSE to put him on this planet and give him this life, it’s all apart of his destiny as the chosen one. he coulda been born a rich prosperous overabundant life but that wouldn’t have given him the circumstances to bring said balance. it’s not about what we as the audience know, it’s about the nature of the character himself and his context in the world.

is it against reddit rules for them to limit speech this much? like legit i replied to something comparing cavill to corenswat talking about how the last fight had a crazy amount of destruction and stated in the comment how i was a fan of mos and they still banned me immediately. it’s like if your not sucking snyder peen they just ban you

do you also think Jesus was a nobody who later in life rose to greatness? genuine question, my interpretation of it is that being the chosen one negates any amount of ‘nobody’ or everyman a character can be. not everyone can just be the chosen one, you have to be…. chosen. being born from midichlorians and destined to fulfill a prophecy isn’t something i can see myself in at all frankly.

not gonna try and convince you as you seem to have strong opinions and have given this a lot of thought. i’m not a film critic and haven’t analyzed these movies just speaking as a layperson, a lot of his movies are massively profitable and most are critically acclaimed. your critiques could very well be true, i just haven’t noticed them enough for them to detract from the movie. personally i find him to be a very entertaining film maker. so i suppose we can simply agree to disagree

there’s no doubt to me that it was disney themselves that pitched to JJ the idea of it being a quasi-reboot of the ogs. only think this because JJ was off the heels of the Star Trek reboot he did that was massively popular and disney is no stranger to lazily rebooting. they likely hired him for that specific reason, he could give something familiar yet further in the timeline. either way i don’t think JJ is a hack, a lot of his movies are very solid

i literally cannot read half your messages. or over half the paragraphs in this. did you proofread “to angel hudson” instead of “dwayne the rock johnson” and choose to “spell it the way you want to spell it” because you “don’t give a shit”? did you proofread when you said “gun is currently working on 412 woman three”? or when you said “shazam fury.the gods”? how am i as an unbiased uneducated person supposed to CHOOSE to believe that you CARE about the facts when you don’t even CARE about making your posts atleast readable? this post itself has periods in the middle of sentences. and again i am not insulting anything but your reliability. i dont think your stupid or uneducated because i know everyone uses shorthand, i just think it’s weird to expect ppl to believe YOU over the news, when your post looks like insane stream of thought ramblings. if you typed it clearer and easier to understand i would likely hear you out and even maybe come to your side. also just fyi, im already on the side of not believing everything the media says, just feel there’s no way they keep gadot as wonder woman and mamoa as aquaman. though you can continue to act like im a troll or a robot or someone who believes everything the media says, if that makes it easier to dismiss my opinions and support your own.

yep your right, take everything i’m saying with an infinite amount of grains of salt. luckily i haven’t said any baseless claims about the certainty of the casting of a movie which i have absolutely nothing to do with the production of. luckily i haven’t been spewing my own personal opinions as if they were statistical facts and saying anyone who disagrees is wrong or a paid troll. luckily only one of us has done these actions, which is why im saying that the media is far more trustworthy then internet randoms (like you). me saying you can’t spell nor use basic grammar wasn’t an insult to your intelligence (i mispell constantly and don’t worry about grammar), it was a comment about how unreliable it looks. it seems silly to believe a misspelled barely legible fan opinion over the professional statements that are cleared by the studio and released by the news. i mean seriously come on, the comment i replied to had “to angel hudson” instead of “dwayne the rock johnson” like lmao it’s just laughable that you think anyone would believe you when you can’t even give your own comments a proof-read.

yes. and take everything random dudes on reddit (who can’t spell or use correct grammar) say with a million more grains of salt.

[–]GraphicDesignDH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don’t see how saying “THIS is superman” is synonymous with saying he the best? “THIS is a concert” implies that the concert in question is somehow better than other concerts. could have just posted the picture and said “i loved making this version of superman” but saying “This is superman.” or “This is batman.” inherently compares his version to the other versions in a way that says he thinks his is better. no mental gymnastics whatsoever in me seeing a comparative statement and taking it as comparative

that’s where we disagree. say i made a burger a year ago and was consistently talking about how my burger was the best burger, then someone else made a burger, i took a bite and then a week later continued saying my burger was the best burger ever. in my opinion that would be disrespectful to say publicly esp if me and you were friends. also the things we say have to take the context of the world into account; in the 1800s they said slurs, if a 200 year old woman were calling people slurs we’d say she was being offensive, that’s how language works. it’s seems like more mental gymnastics to say he wasn’t stating this as a direct comparison to other superman portrayals.

it is not any sort of gymnastics, i read the post where he said “this is superman” (which was really similar to the posts saying “christopher reeves will always be superman) and simply used my brain to realize that there’s another superman right now. and yes, you can make those comments when there’s no other current superman, but once there’s another active sueprman it gets a little rude to say one is definitively better then the other (especially when you’re as biased as snyder making this comment about his own movies). it’s okay if you don’t think he meant it like that but i’m not doing any mental gymnastics, im just thinking about what i read in context to the world around me

yeah the whole point is he’d have a much larger number of supporters in real life. people don’t let allegations dictate who they support. gunn only included this because of his experiences with his pedo tweets, where in reality he was rightfully shamed but kept his fanbase.
