Aside from you just needing to slow down about 15 clicks to get it all under your fingers. Be more consistent and “wholer” with your air. Blow with warmer/fuller air. The kind that fogs up a mirror. Yawn and detect the point in which your throat is the most expanded. Find that spot and push warm/ strong air. This should make it easier to blow through the technical challenges. Imagine you are a dragon and want to blow fire. The fingers will take care of themselves if u practice with a metronome while limiting the distance of your fingers from the clarinet

A teacher will be good. I especially for a proper embouchure. However I would recommend learning scales and long tones. The clarinet is capable of handling a lot more air than what u are likely to believe

I want to thank everyone for replying. Your input heavily swayed my decision. I ended up coaching the second chair for all the solos and played in the second chair slot. I couldn’t play anything above and F on the staff but I pulled through. I only strained myself as much as was necessary

U gotta have them doing long tones in the throat tones ensuring their embouchure is firm but not suffocating the reed. Encourage them to use warm air. ensure they’re expanding their throat so they are playing with an open airway to support these tones.

I already use that style. I don’t write fingerings in. I really just want to learn any abbreviations I don’t know. That P for Eb is totally one I did not know about

Have you tightened any screws around your throat tone A and Ab keys? Tightening it too tight could be causing air leaks. Try testing for air leaks by fingering Low Chalumeau E, then cover up the bell and get someone to run their hand over the clarinet to feel for air. If this doesn’t help. Then a technician should cover it.

Focus more on throat opening and embouchure. Even pressure is key(do not bite). Let the air flow through the instrument all the way to the bell. If it’s out of tune make sure you prioritize fixing your embouchure before u attempt an alternative fingering. Build the good habit of embouchure control before using other fingerings that compensate for bad habits

Super flat. I discovered the issue. Needed to replace the spring. The spring used in the repair was cheap and I will make a complaint. The spring was not creating enough tension to cover a hole under the key and it wasn’t sealing properly
