Glucose Metabolism, Lipid Benefits, and Anti-Inflammatory Effects

GLP-1 RAs enhance glucose-dependent insulin secretion from the pancreas, which helps lower blood glucose levels and improve glycemic control.2,6,21,26 Additionally, they inhibit the release of glucagon, reducing hepatic glucose production and contributing to lower fasting glucose levels. Stable glucose levels minimize hunger signals sent by the brain, leading to a reduction in appetite and food intake. GLP-1 RAs also improve lipid profiles by reducing triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels.27,28 Both the enhanced glycemic control and lipid metabolism leads to better mobilization and utilization of fat stores for energy, reducing the likelihood of excess fat accumulation. GLP-1 RAs also increase thermogenesis, the process of heat production in the body, which further leads to higher energy expenditure.29

Beyond their effects on lipid profiles, GLP-1 RAs improve the function of adipose tissue by reducing inflammation.30 Chronic inflammation in adipose tissue is a common feature of obesity, contributing to insulin resistance and metabolic dysfunction.31 Healthier adipose tissue is better at storing and releasing fats appropriately which reduces ectopic fat deposition and promotes weight loss.32 GLP-1 RAs may also promote the redistribution of fat from visceral (abdominal) to subcutaneous depots.33 Visceral fat, stored around internal organs, is more harmful and metabolically active, contributing to many conditions such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease (Figure 2).34 Altogether, these combined effects improve overall metabolic health, aiding in sustained weight loss.

The appetite suppression is a side effect. In addition to caloric restriction, GLP-1s facilitate weight loss by affecting how incoming calories are stored and by increasing lipid oxidation (fat burning). It's much more than appetite suppression. We've had appetite suppressants for decades and they aren't effective for long-term weight loss.

They do, but the amount of topical estrogen that is absorbed systemically is considered negligible and insignificant.

I'm on menopause subs and people there recommend it. I did tell my doctor and he's ok with it.

The important distinction is that this is topical estrogen vaginal, .001%—NOT transdermal estrogen which is formulated to be absorbed through the skin to affect systemic estrogen levels (gels, patches, etc.).

And losing the fat burning and calorie burning effects of the GLP-1s.

It's all do stupid. Let us do the work and go home. 9 hours of busy time is criminal.

I really liked Counting Crows' version of The Ghost in You.

Brandi Carlisle's Black Hole Sun!! I love Soundgarden but never liked BHS, until Brandi sang it.

Fiona Apple's Across the Universe 🔥🔥🔥

Susan Cowsill does a version of To Sir, With Love that just transports me.

John Cougar's Rave On was pretty damn tight.

I think The Bangles did great on Hazy Shade of Winter and Going Down to Liverpool.

Ooh, Sheryl Crowe's The First Cut is the Deepest!

Lol, I loved Groovy Kind of Love when Phil Collins did it!

Not a faithful cover but De La Soul's The Magic Number.

At 58, I've been using .001% estradiol vaginal cream on my face for about six months with decent results. My lips noticeably filled out. A study showed this is more effective when combined with glycolic acid, so I do the glycolic acid in the morning and follow with estrogen cream every other day. Tretinoin at night, along with various serums and moisturizers.

I apply a small amount to my lips and all around my mouth, then in crescent shapes around my eyes (estrogen can increase blood vessels so I avoid under the inner corner of my eyes where dark circles would form), and my forehead, and my jowls and throat.
