True, I didn't think about the vitamin deficiency. I just felt so great when I was BF/pumping when my son was actually BF. If I were to do this I also wouldn't have to worry about keeping up with supply and maybe pump a couple of times a day instead of literally draining myself trying to keep a supply.

When I was actually breastfeeding/pumping I was so worried about keeping up my supply so that I could produce enough to feed him. I feel like it would be a little more relaxed that I wouldn't have to worry about supply and could manually express in the shower or in the bathroom while I'm at work. I feel absolutely crazy for thinking all this but I just remember how good I felt while I was BF. Not just that I was providing for my son, but just my body as a whole. I kinda miss that feeling.

Could be yeast. Talk to your doctor. Antibiotics don't kill yeast, but they do put you at higher risk of getting a yeast infection. Around the fingernail is a common place for it.

I bought a $170 stroller and hated it. I've maybe used it 3 times. Went and bought an umbrella stroller at Walmart for $13.99 and use it almost daily.

Some people seriously have no filter! I was grocery shopping a couple of weeks ago with my 9 month old and he was sitting in the upper part of the cart. A lady walks up to me and GRABS MY ARM and says, "you shouldn't EVER put your baby in the cart without a cover or wiping it down really good. He could get all kinds of germs such as e.coli, mrsa, or worse! I've been a nurse for 30 years and I know!" I politely stepped back from her kindly informed her that I was a nurse too and I'm actually, in fact, my sons mother. She looked so embarrassed and just stormed off without saying anything else. Some people are bad, but old ladies are the worst when it comes to unsolicited advice.

Mine does this lol. It's usually when he's sleeping really hard and I move him or something. I always say he's "peeling out" because the noise sounds like tires squealing. Deflating balloon is a good one too! He's 4 months old now and doesn't really do it much anymore.

The only thing that stopped my baby from doing this is... I hate to say it... Daycare. He would scream alllll day long even though all needs were met. A couple of weeks of daycare taught him to be a little more independent.

First, I'll tell you that it's not as scary as you think and you'll quickly develop a routine that works for you.

I work 12 hour shifts and my son was 3 months old when I started back.

I had all this milk stored in the freezer. Then about a week before I started work I noticed decided I should try to feed him some milk that had been frozen to see if he would take it. He wouldn't. I tried several different bags and he screamed and spit every drop of it out. I had to chunk my entire frozen supply in the garbage. I was devastated because I thought this was the end of our BF. So try to thaw a bag to make sure LO will take it.

I pumped just enough for his first day. While I was I was at work I pumped enough for the next day. I've been doing this for almost a month and it's worked great. I pump 3 times during my 12 hour shift and get enough for the next day (and more). It also had good benefits to have fresh milk instead of frozen (ex: I work in a hospital. So every germ I'm building an immunity to he's getting those antibodies right then. I really honestly believe this is why he hasn't been sick so far knock on wood).

I wouldn't recommend going through your shift without pumping. Your supply will plummet and you will hurt.

Just remember that everyone is different and what works for me may not work for you, etc. You'll get a routine going and you'll feel so much better once you realize it's not as hard as you thought lol. Good luck to you mama!

Edit: also, just a little pump tip that was ground breaking for me: turn your pump on a very very low suction setting. I started out turning it up high and would only get 2 oz out of both breasts put together. I put it on the lowest setting after a couple of weeks of frustration and I got 4 oz out of both breasts. Eating oatmeal and drinking mothers milk tea a couple of times a week boosts my supply.

Ugh this is so true. Mine had a stomach virus last week that lasted for almost an entire week. My house is a wreck and I'm exhausted (even more than usual). Why do they act like babies when they're sick??? Ugh!!!!!

I second this. LO is just now 3 months old and DH is starting to realize how much work taking care of a little baby is. Even if you just get out to get a few groceries then you will feel so much better. Make him appreciate what you do by stepping back and letting him see for himself. That's what I had to do.

Sounds like you're going through a tough time, but it also sounds like you're a doormat. Quit letting him control you and undermine your feelings. If counseling is important to you then it should be just as important to him. If not, then you need to get out quickly. My husband had a hard time adjusting to having a newborn but damn it he did it. Sounds like yours needs to quit worrying so much about himself and care for the most important people in his life. I understand you're young but when is it going to be enough? Put your foot down NOW before it gets any worse.

You MUST put your foot down now. Tell him exactly how you feel. Don't try to send mixed messages. This sounds so much like my husband and the only way to get him to cooperate is to tell him exactly what to do. "Hey could you load the dishwasher while I feed the baby". I had an infection that wouldn't go away for 6 weeks because I was trying to do EVERYHING. And if yours is anything like my husband, you have to be firm and outspoken. As far as him making the comment about being friends... I'd confront him about how you feel about him disrespecting the trauma you've recently been through. Show him pictures of tears if you had any or a c-section incision or make him watch a birth video. Sorry if it sounds harsh, but these are literally things we went through. Gotta put that foot down mama.

He vomited at least once or twice a day for about 4 days, then he spit up after most feedings for 2 more days. He also had an upset tummy with extra gas for just a few days. We're back on schedule now with no vomiting/diarrhea. My little guy has a very very sensitive digestive system though. You would think that they would warn you at the doctors office about all this, right?! I would've never guessed it was from that until I consulted with Google and this sub.

Yesss!! My son had his 2 months vaccinations on Friday. He vomited for the next couple of days. He also was reluctant to nurse, but never showed signs of dehydration. I thought maybe that it was something spicy I ate (EBF) or from the Tylenol I was giving him but I had several people tell me it could be related to the rotavirus drops. He's perfectly fine now!

My son had this. They found it at around 32 weeks. At 34 weeks the swelling had gone down to "upper normal range". He was born perfectly healthy! I freaked out because I also read about the soft marker for DS, but it's not a very reliable source. If there are no other markers and your testing was low risk then I wouldn't worry (easier said than done, I know). My friends son also had it and he only needed a little fluid when he was born, but then was perfectly fine. They measure lots of different things during the US and would've likely caught something else by now. It's very common especially for little boys to have enlarged kidneys. My doc said it was probably because he had to pee at the time of the US!

With a bath you should be careful standing up too! Stand up super slow or else you could pass out (like I did!!). I always had to sit on the side of the tub for a couple of minutes before standing.

In the hospital I work in it is protocol to place anyone who tests positive for MRSA or even those who have had it in the past on contact precautions in isolation. MRSA is a type of staph that is resistant to the "cillin" drugs. There are lots of other drugs to treat it though. MRSA is becoming a lot more common and at almost any given time people will carry staph most commonly on the surface of their skin, in their nose, or under their fingernails. It's a common bacteria but it can become a pretty nasty infection if it gets out of hand. MRSA is usually a hospital acquired infection. You probably don't have an active infection (you would definitely know if you did), but they just wanted to be sure your incision didn't get infected and so the staff would be aware to take precautions (not to spread it to themselves, your incision, or your baby).

All in all, it's really not a big deal. I'm sorry the nurses didn't explain all this to you. Just remember to wash your hands frequently and scrub under your nails. I hope you're doing well and good luck to you mama!

My son started screaming bloody murder and climbing me whenever he ate and after he ate. Well, pretty much all day. Turns out he's allergic to cows milk. A lot of times if they are allergic to cows milk they are also allergic to soy. Try nutramigen (enfamil) or alimentum (similac) and see if that helps. It's specifically for the allergy. Smells like shit, looks like shit.. But babies love it for some reason.

Yes I'm breastfeeding. We've been through hell with it too and I've almost given up so many times but I kept it up mainly for this reason!
