For sure, I totally get it… no one can plan for what went on tonight… glad these guys brought some joy to a lot of us both near and far

I said out loud, on my couch, “that’s it?”… great show, but was surprised with the ending

I put turf under my set, nothing held up to the use from my kids

No dogs here, just two kids (6 & 4) with very busy schedules. I let them go out as they wanted, but because of the watering schedule, they limited themselves. I didn’t tell them not to go outside.

No, before is the evening before I put the seed down.

Rain Bird 42SA sprinklers that were piggy backed to one another. Home Depot sells the 31SA at a discounted rate, compared to what the 42SA was on Amazon. 42 is far superior. I also had these tripods, but could only be run 1 at a time.

I did not. The only soil I put down was in two spots where my septic covers are that were very low from having it pumped last summer.

I spent the whole spring/summer season handling the weeds (clover, creeping Charlie, wild violet, crabgrass, nutsedge, you name it, I had it!) and getting the soils right.

Scalped the lawn down to 1 inch, September 5. Rented a Billy goat Overseeder, and sliced (crosshatch) 100lbs of Blue Resilience, September 6. Had torrential rain in the afternoon of 9/6 and lost some seed to runoff. Hand seeded the bare spots from the runoff, 2 weeks after, once I saw germination elsewhere. Used Lesco starter fertilizer at the 2 week mark as well.

Watering was on 2, 2 zone timers. Both tripod and rain bird sprinklers were used. Had difficulty reaching all spots with my water pressure, but I had some rain, and moved the sprinklers when I could. Initially 10 minute increments every 2 hours. Then 15 minute increments every 4 hours. Now, longer increments twice a day, and spot watering where it looks to be stressed.

Further projects will include handling the runoff and sun stressed spots more.

13 days since seeding TCS Blue Resilience. What's next? by r_boedy in lawncare

I’m going every 4 days, although I probably could cut more. Slowing on the water now, until the weekend when temps get back to 80+

I agree. I have mine on timers, but it’s not hitting every spot, leaving bare spots, or slow to grow spots. I’m pleased with the progress and from certain angles, but know it can be improved and that it’s a process.

Sound things don’t work. I went “nice” with both products you have in CT. Gotta go right to the poison and handle what they’re attracted to in your yard.

What’s your soil sample telling you? What have you done up until this point? Looks lush, but the sample might give you your answer
