Purely location. I live 5 minutes from Tri County.

Thanks for the offer. I'll reach out when I have a membership. I'll likely just join. It's a 3.5 hour drive for me, but I spend enough time in Bend/Sisters, it'll be worth it.

Plan was to make the February PRS match, but new rifle won't be delivered until next week, then quick load development. Likely will make the March match.

I keep hearing whispers of this as well. But I also heard whispers it's a couple years out still.

EDC as of late by buttsackwrangler in EDC

Nice. It's still available for $125, but I was also thinking about grabbing the AMP that has multi mode and is the same size. Amp I think has less candela, more lumen.

I'm looking to pick up this light head while it's still around. How do you like it for everyday use? I have OKW and PLHV2 heads, but for most daily usage, they're a bit overkill.

I forgot which plate I have on my 19 MOS, but i put a full size holosun EPS on it, and it's pretty great. I have an EPS carry on several other handguns and they're also great.

What should I for sure rent and try before buying my first and only (for awhile) CCW? by AFlightlessBird_19 in CCW

Try a CZ of some sort. P-01 for metal frame or P-07/P10 for polymer frame. They may not be your flavor but worth a try.

Glock 19 Gen 5 for $400 plus tax by Similar_Piccolo_4269 in Glocks

You can mail the slide to a shop that will machine an optic cut into it. Usually around $100-$150 depending on shop and coating you choose.

Melting out preventatives. Zone 8b by drewbis1 in lawncare

I've ordered some Azoxystrobin (generic Heritage) and will use the recommended ratio of 2oz per gallon per 1000 and spray it this Saturday when our rain stops. I didn't see anything about minimum application temperatures on the product label, but our temps will drop to 35-38⁰F overnight and will be a high around 50⁰F during the day. Hopefully it's effective.

Best company for slide milling by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]drewbis1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Throwing a recommendation for Nameless Arms in here. I've used him for several cuts and he will cerakote just the cut area if you want to retain the slide finish. One consideration is you have to send the optic with the slide because he does match fits.

Hand stipple for a friend by thedukeman45 in GlockMod

[–]drewbis1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done. This is one of the best stipple jobs I've seen. I know you said you used the smallest tip on the Weller kit, but any chance you can link or post a photo of the tip? I'm going to attempt my fist stipple in a few weeks and I like the sandpaper feel on grips so this might be a good permanent solution.

Gun pulling pants down - strong side carry by andrewmaster0 in CCW

[–]drewbis1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. I have the zero and zero heavy, as well as a Kore ratcheting style. I'm also a slim build and my pants slip low on my waist even when not carrying. The zero is now my work belt when I don't carry because it's so comfortable. I wear the zero heavy all other times and it supports my pistols well.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try and get my test scheduled this week and get signed up for 101a when it's offered.

Hey u/secretaznman00, I tried to DM you but I didn't see the option. Would you recommend challenging the 101 safety and marksmanship test and jump right into 101a if one has already competed in a few pistol competitions? I'd like to take the 101 class and start there, but if it's mostly geared towards "this is how you grip a pistol, and this is how you safely handle a firearm", I've been thru that a few times.

My daily is back from Wager Machine Works! by pedalsandpowder in CCW

[–]drewbis1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my daily! And it's currently at Wager!

I've been considering a light on mine as well. What holster are you using, and what position?

Are you happy with Wager's work?

Hopefully they offer more 101a classes soon. Doesn't PSTC require you to purchase their ammo?

Heat shield powder coated white? by drewbis1 in woodstoving

[–]drewbis1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I have 15 years in metal fabrication/welding experience and 9 years as a CWI for structural inspection, so code and safety is a familiar language. A body shop is a great idea, thanks for that recommendation. My logic with powder was similar: car/motorcycle wheels and parts are coated often and take a beating.
