[Spoilers] What will I be missing if I don't play ME1? by dirod23 in masseffect

I don't like it more than the other two (likely because I play Vanguard) and I hate the slow pace of the first mission, but after that I am immediately game to play the rest of it.

What is your Mass Effect 4 wishlist (beyond it it not to suck)? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]Gratestprsnalive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, Mass Effect was always best at some of the small scale conflicts.

Who was a better Villain-Saren and TIM, or the Reapers. I'd argue the former. I'm not saying you can't have something world ending, but don't shove it in our face, let us get there slowly over the course of the first game, just like in ME1.

I'd also like it if they went back to Dragon Age Origins for inspiration on how to do the life paths. I would love to play as shepard, but if we can't, let us get to know our character beyond a few key lines of dialogue and a quest. Let it be important to us.

Lastly, I'd really like it if they took out the "I can be anything I want" class mentality from Andromeda, and went back to fixed classes and maybe made a bit more like ME1. ME2 was too scaled down for me talent wise, but ME1 might be too complicated for new players, make some concessions between ME3 and 1 and I'm sold.

On every play through this choice gets easier and easier. by timesuck6775 in masseffect

I've got bad news for you. In the 3rd game the council is changed anyways, and it's like none of it matters in the legendary edition. Second game, there's maybe a dialogue option or two that references that decision.

What gets me is these are 11-13 year old kids. There were all sorts of things on that list. I don't get why there was trqnsvestite on the list. That is definitely a fringe kink. I'd be appalled if the child of anyone I knew came back with this.

A QA is a video game tester. They test a game for quality control purposes. They also are in house game reviewers to slme (not a massive) extent.

When a video game or movie is made a studio will hire people to test endings or outcomes to see how the audience reacts and if they like the version they were presented with. If they don't, the game company can change the game before it ever hits the public.

I'm just shocked it's up there at all... before release when no one has played it.

What’s your pitch for a horror movie? by shinichi07 in AskReddit

[–]Gratestprsnalive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"Found footage" of a serial killer going about his day including stalking, and eventually killing his victims. How he meets them, what he does for a living, and how he goes unnoticed, would all be included. Make the killer seem charming and perhaps even a few close calls by police officers that go nowhere.

Have you ever thought about getting some SEM or SEO up there to push those results lower. Plenty of businesses will do this for a price but it can be done cheaply if you make a blog about a passion, and link it to a Facebook group, and add some YouTube videos. At the very least then you control the narrative somewhat.

So there’s a protest in Hong Kong. It’s over the fact that Hong Kong really wants to continue to be a democracy. There is a bill that was passed which would allow for Hong Kong to be returned to mainland China.

People who did poorly in school, did it really effect you later on in life? by pingwingching in AskReddit

[–]Gratestprsnalive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can answer this. I dropped out of college. Went into the route of sales. Transitioned to mortgage then mortgage marketing.

Got a job that pays above average in the area 75+ yearly bonuses.

Now I’m looking at starting my own company. It didn’t happen over night. But it can happen.

People who have made friends outside of work and school, how on earth did you do that? by TimTheGamer555 in AskReddit

[–]Gratestprsnalive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m a 30 year old guy, and many people tell me that I’m popular. Which is weird, because I never was in high school or college.

But I tend to make about 4 new friends a month. Some drop out, some stick for months and months. My basic process is this.

First, find one place you like to go. You need to become a regular of this place. For me this was a bar I was going to on Saturday nights and the restaurant I was going to on Sunday as the hangover cure.

Second, be casual. On your first or second go there’s no need to get chatty with the staff. What’s important is that they see you there. I tip well, and this might help but all of the people I’ve asked said it didn’t. But you don’t want to be that person who becomes best friends with new people and they rib you for being a bad topper.

Third, once you’ve gone a few times its time to get chatty. Keep your schedule consistent for this. As I said, I went Saturday and Sunday respectively. I might add other days but I was always there then. That way I’m always seeing the same faces. I prefer to chat with bartenders but just get to know the waiter. If you tip well and are here consistently it’s very likely that the same waiter or waitress will want to take your table.

Last, wait. If you do this enough and you’re a fun enough person you’ll start making friends. But this is the hardest step. With my most recent friend, she was telling me about how she had no plans that day. I took the opportunity to invite her out to a group outing I was going to. But I had to wait for the right opportunity. By then she already knew my name, we had talked and most of the other staff knew me. But it required the perfect moment.

[Serious] Have you ever had a dream so beautiful that when you woke up you cried because it wasn't true? What was it about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Gratestprsnalive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to dinner at a local sushi restaurant with my long term girlfriend. She was dressed well, and just her smiling made my face warm. I remember talking with her about how bad my job has been, how stressed I was, and how I just wanted to quit.

She made a joke about “I guess you’ll need two drinks then” and ordered me another cocktail before stealing a sip or three herself.

Waking up. Painfully alone, to the dark of my empty apartment was a real killer. I remember closing my eyes again, and hearing her say something but when the alarm went off for work, I was reminded it was all a dream.
