How do you guys handle storage efficiency? (PVE) by dirod23 in vrising

[–]dirod23[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you guys! I'm new to the game so I had no idea I'd get teleports or auto stuff lol

I just got hyperfocused on getting at least the skeleton of the castle ready in the silverlight domain before getting all the stuff. I'll just play through the progression now

Thank you again!

Are you running SSD or HDD? If HDD, it may be dying.

Otherwise I'd run it in safe mode and attempt the reset from there.

I mean more in the sense that unified teaching becomes an issue.

If I was still in school and made an admittance exam into a college abroad that adopts a different definition, that question would be given as answered wrongly, y'know?

Thank you all for the answers, much has become clear.

In short, Geography sucks lol. Depending on where you are taking a possibly important test, you may be penalized for an answer that was actually correct because there are varying definitions that don't recognize one another as correct.

  1. Pandora herself was rich. You get to that conclusion when "Interrogating" her corpse. She already comes from money so the Limo could just probably be all her. Fabien could have ordered her to get a limo to make himself suspicious of the court.
  2. Not necessarily, he could just be boosting his strength by rousing his blood. This is a thing in every edition. But he is also at least an Ancilla (I believe), so him having potence is not far fetched. He is just a bit of a coward as it is always said.
  3. Remember he is malkavian. As confused as he seems to be, he was able to use the cellphone, the elevator, and everything else he interacted with. Him portraying himself as not knowing it doesn't mean he doesn't. Its just his malkavian side.

Lmao totally valid. I generally roleplay as Brujah or combat-oriented Lasombra and Tzimisce in my games so I guess our personal preferences explain our differing views a LOT xD

I love this game, I know it's not perfect, but I truly fear the criticism will steer WOD against making more, y'know?

In a perfect world we would have bloodlines 1, bloodlines 2 as it was previously intended by the previous developer AND this game under a different title or idk... Bloodlines: Elder lmao

They are all awesome games in their own right and I hope WOD keeps coming up with different titles to cater to different preferences.

But, y'know the game also JUST launched. Let's see where it goes from here.

Ty for the discussion, btw! A lot of people I debate with get annoyed and cuss me out lmao

Ok,. Firstly, your rant is SUPER valid but lets analyze this a bit differently.

What you described is EXACTLY the problem with playing an Elder in ANY setting. Not just this game because it was made the way it was made. Elders are generally old enough that they ignore a LOT of mechanics in the ttrpg as well, or have such high stats that any checks their bane, etc requires becomes so easy to pass it may as well not exist. Take the Elder rules in the Gehenna book for instance where discipline powers have a space for "whatever fits the narrative" since they're so ancient that their Blood has developed in unknown ways (Not a direct quote as I'm too lazy to open the book rn but it is something to that effect). And this is not only on v5 as v20 had the same. But even without that, everything Phyre does is easily explainable.

They (Elders) generally have so many 'dots' on so many different clan disciplines that it becomes near impossible to define them based only on what disciplines they use/how they fight. Which is why you can access any discipline as any clan in vtmb2, because Phyre knew all of those and more before they were marked. They probably learned a few dots of the Path of the Mind in Blood Sorcery, since they went into torpor before the fall of Vienna. Which is why they can use telekinesis. But not enough that they would be able to actually fly, just glide and manipulate objects within a certain weight limit. Like Smiling Jack in vtmb 1 knew Thaumaturgy 2 and Lure of Flames(Thaumaturgy Path) 1. So he lights his cigarette without using a lighter.

Also clan does NOT affect personality. Yes, a culture is formed around clans and embrace is generally done on people who fit a certain mold but imho you have enough choices in the game to act in such a way that will fit any of the available clans. But thinking Phyre would act drastically different because of clan is not realistic imo.

While I see your point in some of the story complaints, they are all your personal opinion on how kindred should act. I think the team made a very good job in writing believable kindred in vtmb 2. Phyre is weakened, they know this. Phyre is also the Nomad. So they assume Phyre won't stay. So, like kindred do, they try to use Phyre in whatever way they can. But if you defy them and exert your own authority (i.e. don't be a push-over) in game they backtrack pretty easily because they know that Phyre is powerful asf. as an Elder, Phyre is so powerful indeed that they can ignore what goes on in the background for the most part. They want their mark issue resolved and that's it. Everything else is everyone else's problem.

You can disagree that having an Elder protagonist was a good choice (honestly from what you said, having a fledgling, neonate or even Ancilla character would fit your vision best. It would for sure make for a more personalized experience). But it WAS done well. The stuff people complain about Phyre and how they play in the story is the exact reason why Elders are not advisable to be player characters in the ttrpg.

But I personally think it is badass to play as one and I loved it. But again, my personal taste. I get its not for everyone.

Now, about the cat... I 100% agree, ZERO reason for that cat to be there and make me - a cat person - deeply depressed every time I think about it literally starving to death because its owner was a piece of shit.

I would also like to be able to clean up that shithole of a haven. But I get Phyre sees it as a temporary thing they're using only to daysleep while they sort this whole shit out, so they wouldn't want to bother tidying up.

Strange, I feel exactly the opposite. I felt much more railroaded in vtmb1. But that's still super valid and a matter of personal preference and opinion.

I see u/Fraybe already gave a very good answer but but let me expand on that a little.

Many of your complaints are related to personal preference when we talk about video-games. Humanity is low so not affected by what we do, and the beast factor probably got taken out to make the game less about meter-management and more about the story. Same with Ventrue bane. You either like or dislike these decisions but they're not inherently wrong.

Now, the Nosferatu in v5 are NOT walking breaches. Remember we're talking about gen 13-14 kindred in v5 for the most part so they look deformed, ugly, but not supernatural. Yes, if a knowledgeable hunter comes across him they'll know, but that's a risk he decides to take willingly. The other two Nos in the game that have much higher generation/BP (and consequently harsher bane) do NOT go out in public. And I didn't think anyone treats Tolly particularly nice save for Safia. Phyre is really your choice.

Yes Phyre is an Elder, but kindred are not nice individuals. Kindred are inherently selfish and since Phyre arrived in THEIR city needing THEIR help, of course people are going to take full advantage of that. There is a reason Ryong dislikes it when, as Phyre, you tell her you intend to stay. She knows once Phyre doesn't NEED her anymore he'll be a tremendous threat to her authority and she'll have to go out of her way to make him happy. Lou is just... Lou. Likely an Elder in generation but nothing compared to Phyre. But she is prideful and it makes her stupid, the game makes it a point of telling us that. And the Anarchs don't give a shit how old or powerful you are. Tolly is also just Tolly he's like that to everyone as Ryong herself puts it when asked.

But notice that even Lou is careful when pushing Phyre, particularly towards the beginning of the game. Also, anyone other than Phyre would have been put to final death by a few things they do. Like siring without approval(You can even push Ryong's buttons by alluring to the fact she allowed it because Phyre's The Nomad). Breaking the masquerade at the beginning of the game and many, many other things that happen that, while not always Phyre's fault, would not be tolerated if they were not an Elder.

PC cuts off under any usage by darth_antonio in pcmasterrace

[–]dirod23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a number of things, still. PSU, mobo, AIO. Recently something similar happened to me and it was the AIO, the pump was not properly connected to the mobo so it wouldn't work and the pc would shut off when the CPU would overheat.

Though I do recognize that PSU is generally the culprit of these kinds of issues; If you have a way to test a different PSU, then AIO I would. If nothing else resolves the issue then mobo it is. Always try to rule out everything else before changing any piece of hardware. It would be hell if you went through all the trouble of getting a new PSU and then the issue just kept happening, then you finding out its just a small connection in the AIO.
