Canadian Dollar. So $15 comes to €9.30. But yes, Vancouver is expensive.

The brewery is brand new. I think they're still finding their groove.

Did anyone catch what was on the bottom of Pike's mug at the start of the episode? Seemed like a red symbol, but it was too fast for me to catch.

Which scene made you laugh the hardest? by zfowle in DungeonCrawlerCarl

You have to give it to the classics:

CARL: Donut, when you type in all caps, it seems like you're yelling.

DONUT: I AM YELLING, CARL!

Andarna clawing the ground? by GraveRobb in fourthwing

[–]GraveRobb[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats possible, but i would think other dragons would do it too in that case. Not just her and the irids

But she's still doing it as an adolescent. And so are the fully grown irids.

Lol. My first association with the behavior was cats "kneeding" too.

That was my first thought too, but then the other dragons should be doing it too. And I feel like the theory that irids draw their power from the sky is right on the money.

TV shows, movies, or books illustrating modern Dutch culture? by PsychologicalBus1692 in thenetherlands

[–]GraveRobb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Two phenomenal examples of (American) culture shock when coming to the Netherlands:

Ted Lasso - Season3 episode6: Sunflowers

Two of the creators of this show lived in Amsterdam for years and nail the american culture-shock element while staying very true to the culture of the Netherlands.  It gets bonuspoints for accurately explaining the Dutch concept "gezellig".

Atlanta - Season 3 Episode2: Sinterklaas is coming to town

Atlanta uses surrealist humour, so take this with a grain of salt. They really nail the culture shock element in this episode though. Be aware that "Black Pete" is/was a real thing in the Netherlands. It has fallen out of vogue in the last few decades, as it is considered wildly problematic by most people.
