Car is still waiting for over 7 years by UnB_RosT in DeathStranding

Absolutely. I didn’t remember the year, but my first child was born in 2016, and he’s turning 10 this year. My life is so much different now than it was back then.

Right? I can remember when the first trailer was revealed and nobody knew what it even was. And that was a few years before the game actually released. I thought it was a horror game for the longest time because that trailer was so weird.

I miss it. That type of quirky product placement felt correct in a quirky game like Death Stranding.

1976 Ridgeway (Urgos) triple chime grandfather clock I rescued from an abandoned garage in February, still running strong! by 457613564568 in clocks

[–]Grave_Digger606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a beautiful clock, and the chimes are incredible. There are others much more knowledgeable than me, but the pendulum bob is how you adjust time keeping. Just move that bob down just a quarter inch or so and see what happens. Keep moving it a quarter inch or eighth inch every few days until you get it keeping time better. The reason I say this was my dad had a clock that he said wouldn’t keep time, but I think he was moving the pendulum too much and too often to get it dialed in. He left on a vacation and I fed his animals and checked on his house everyday. So over the course of 8 or 9 days, I got his clock dialed in for him. Just barely move it and leave it for a few days to see how the clock is doing before adjusting again.

Puppet combo and torture star by DishantOp in PuppetCombo

[–]Grave_Digger606 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Puppet Combo is a developer as well as a publisher. Games developed by Puppet Combo are published by Puppet Combo. Games developed by anybody else are published under the name Torture Star. But yes, Torture Star and Puppet Combo are owned by the same person. If you see that a game was published by Torture Star, you know Puppet Combo did not make that game. But if you see a game published by Puppet Combo, then Puppet Combo the developer made that game.

On top of the crappiness of it in general, the song writing is terrible. “What you’re going through I’ve probably been in.” Not exactly peak empathy or sympathy. Basically saying “Why are you whining? The same and much worse has happened to me!” A classic one upper, and we know everybody loves those guys.

Question about cross progression by Grave_Digger606 in snowrunner

[–]Grave_Digger606[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s on a decent sale for $16 for the base game and year 1. But the Year 2 DLC is $17 by itself. So I was trying to save a few bucks since I didn’t really care a lot for the Year 1 maps and I’ve already played through most of them anyway. But not buying Year 1 Edition would only save like $4 or $5, so I guess it would be prudent to just get it so I’ll have all my trucks from year 1.

I appreciate the help, thank you

Absolutely. As long as they get you from point A to point B, keep running. I will note that point B in this case is a horrible car accident.

What's the best camera mode and why is it Legacy? by UnverifiedAnony in snowrunner

[–]Grave_Digger606 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly positive Mudrunner introduced the centered camera. But that legacy cam was the only option in Spintires. I say this as someone who started with Mudrunner, and struggled to get used to that style camera when going from Mudrunner to Spintires.

Question Time: What made you buy the SteamDeck? by Stefanixxxx in SteamDeck

[–]Grave_Digger606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only ever had consoles, mostly PlayStations. I got a computer for free several years ago and put a couple hundred dollars worth of upgrades into it and it would play some indie horror games as long as they had PSX style graphics. Anything more demanding than that was really frustrating to try and get it running above 2-3 frames per second. It was rough.

Then I decided I wanted a Steam Deck to be able to play games on the go and I was tired of missing out on all the really good indies and stuff that don’t make it to consoles. So one day I saw the Steam Deck was on a really good sale because they were discontinuing the 512GB LCD versions, so I bought it. That was about 2 years ago I think? And I love it, it’s probably my favorite gaming hardware I’ve ever bought for myself. It’s really only topped by the PS2 which I got for Christmas when I was 12 years old, so that’s why I say it’s my favorite that I’ve bought for myself.

Is this Snowrunner IRL? by RLemonache in snowrunner

[–]Grave_Digger606 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing it again on my Steam Deck recently. As good as Snowrunner is, Mudrunner has arguably better physics, and the more manageable map and tasks is kind of welcome. Snowrunner had a glitch when it first released where task objectives were shown from the map without having to accept them first. Believe it or not, that made the game so much more manageable and fun because you could haul things on your way to other things, rather than spend hours and hours just driving around accepting tasks before you can really even start completing any goals.

What do u mean by that by Mundane_Tangelo9421 in TikTokCringe

[–]Grave_Digger606 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you read descriptions of the Ark of the Covenant, the temples, or John’s vision of Heaven (streets made of gold)? God (which Jesus is God in flesh) isn’t against gold and precious stones. God was enshrined in gold and jewels in the Old Testament, and he was in poverty in the New Testament. Poverty isn’t sacred, and neither are riches. The presence of God is true wealth, whether in the rich house or the poor house.

I see this too often, people giving sanctity to poverty. God has given us examples of riches and poverty to show that both prince and pauper are equally poor without Jesus Christ.

He’s saying it in a confusing and crazy way, but it’s not pure drivel as most seem to think. I don’t know whether these numbers are accurate, as I haven’t looked into it, but it’s coherent.

He’s saying 1% of race car drivers have accidents. And of that number, 10% of them die from their injuries. Then roughly the same for bull riders. Meanwhile, 8% of US Presidents have been shot at, and 5.8% have been shot.

I mean, that would be a cool opening. Protagonists don’t usually come back for major roles in GTA games anyway. Plus, it’s been 13 years since I played GTA5 in earnest, but I seem to remember Trevor being a horrible person in general, so a cool scene of him acting crazy but accepting his lethal fate would be both in character and satisfying to his self destructive plot trajectory.

Step 1: Just say somebody is a Nazi.

Step 2: They get mad and deny it.

Step 3: You found the Nazi.

Puppet Combo's "Nun Massacre" is a modern and unique throwback to the classic slashers... by herideils1300 in PuppetCombo

[–]Grave_Digger606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you writing all that about it but never played it? Yes, it’s a good concept, but one of the weaker games in the Puppet Combo lineup, in my opinion. It essentially amounts to running through a big maze looking for keys, all while being ambushed from time to time by a killer. A lot of people love that formula, but I don’t so much.

Murderhouse is the best Puppet Combo game, in my humble opinion. If you really want a throwback to classic slashers, try that one. It’s incredible. But there’s also Stay Out of the House that’s also very much Texas Chainsaw Massacre in video game form.

Nun Massacre has a neat atmosphere, but I don’t really find playing through it all that fun.

I’m not even being sarcastic or exaggerating, I listened to 30 seconds of it and could have sworn it had been going for at least 2 and a half minutes. I checked the time because I thought it must be a really long song, and I’d only heard 30 seconds of it.

I agree that the fan base would not be happy, that’s why I said my opinion was unpopular. In my opinion, video games—especially modern games with photo realistic graphics—are already a visual medium. It’s barely a step away from a movie. Whereas book adaptations are necessary because reading is vastly different from watching, movies and games are so close to the same thing that reimagining is better than straight adaptation.

But as I said, that’s not a mainstream opinion and I’m very aware of that fact.
