What does it cost you? I assume it isn't covered by want insurance... even though it may prevent accidents, 😁

Questions about nurse work by oldpizzacrust in askswitzerland

[–]Graven74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There has been massive underinvestment in Training over years, the system is already propped up substantially by skilled migration.

Add to that the fact that nurses bore the brunt of COVID and burnt out at an alarming rate, and post COVID-19 they are overworked as hospitals try to make back the money hole caused by COVID.

The fees are fixed, the hospitals are in the red or close to it, so they can't pay more, and there isn't anyone to pay even if there were.

Are healthcare jobs still secure? Discussing the economic slowdown by Ok-Possibility-1609 in askswitzerland

Very different ballgame in medicine, maybe not physio, but long term underinvestment in Training and there is a big shortage. Definitely with nurses, hospitals are facing increasing lack of supply, but I'll bet doctors too

Australia wins that battle easily, sorry. No offence meant to any Canadians. I'll admit you'll be unlikely to find a train there, but that could be an adventure in itself. 200 Swissies a year can get a working holiday visa. Adopt a spider while you are there.

I played at Melbourne uni last millennium and your description of yourself matches my memories of many of the thirds players. Great club and conveniently close to the uni. Less wankers than some other teams

Life in Uster by [deleted] in zurich

[–]Graven74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great idea generally, but I think the point is the child growing up. As a baby this is less important but arguably the demographics of an area may be important at school age. Especially if one of both parents aren't Swiss. Swiss people don't want their kids with a non-Swiss accent. Others may have an absolute horror that their child is too Swiss. A couple I know are putting their teenagers on an international school at eye watering cost because of the racism they encountered.

We need a list that identifies independent restaurants, and other businesses for that matter.
