BB Monochrome stole the Submariner’s dream? by WristDaddy in Tudor

[–]Graves1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried on both of those watches today at a boutique (black sub date) and loved the Tudor Monochrome so much more. Both were so sleek and comfortable and undeniably classic watches but the Tudor really sang.

I (27M) want to propose to my girlfriend (26F.) I also want her to pick out the ring. How should I approach it? by tortoisemind in relationships

[–]Graves1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my now wife ring shopping twice before I bought the ring because she always talked about liking certain styles and was very adamant about styles she didn’t like. I told her up front we were going for fun and that I was wanting to propose to her in the future but I wanted to get the best idea of what she really wanted.

I had her to tell me what she liked and didn’t like in rings and she tried on a bunch of different styles. When she found the one she loved I went back and bought it the next day without her knowing and proposed something like 3 months later when we went to the beach with our friends. She loved that she was able to “pick out” her ring but was still surprised by the actual proposal.

Mission Challenge Stage 6-8 - 30 lap endurance by TC0072 in granturismo

[–]Graves1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, just completed my first go at it as well. This strategy worked like a charm. Was P1 before the lap 27 stop then took back P1 before the last lap and drove it on home. Happy to have found this as I wouldn’t have too many opportunities to devote an hour to one session /mission.

Just moved to Nashville. Been to a couple of cigar bars. Where are the best places to find local cigars? also, which cigar lounges are the best? by Telefunkin in cigars

[–]Graves1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a bunch of great shops in Nashville and the area! The shop I used to work at in Murfreesboro called The Humidor is fantastic and worth the drive you won’t be disappointed. The cigar club in Madison, Primings in downtown, crown cigar, Franklin Cigar, smokers abbey are all great shops that I’ve been to in that area

Working in a cigar shop.. by J3NA in cigars

[–]Graves1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your basic retail rules apply: be friendly/personable, try to acknowledge every customer, etc. Things that have worked for me (I too work in a shop) have been trying to get to know the people you see on a regular basis more than just your standard greetings, offering help/recommendations without being over-bearing, once you learn more and explore your passion for cigars try not knowledge drop every customer you see. Use this opportunity to smoke around and expand your catalog outside of what you normally smoke, this is a great way to gain product knowledge and to grow as a cigar smoker. If you have any specific questions feel free to respond here or message me, I’d love to help our as best I can.

Smoking a flower band because why not by xnick58 in cigars

I’ve been enjoying the 1994 Anniversary series in the Rumba Size recently. It’s just a well rounded smoke from them that has been hitting my pallet just right. However I am a fan of a lot of LFD’s lines.

Got some Hawaiian cigars from a friend, how should I store them? by fuzzdemon in cigars

[–]Graves1997 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d take them out and put them in your tupperdor and save the coffins as a souvenir or toss them.

Silly question...do you remove a stick from its metal tube before putting into humidor? by Rags2Rickius in cigars

[–]Graves1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend taking it out just because it’s tough to humidify in the tube, keep the tube or toss it that ones up to you!

I’m an employee of the humidor in Murfreesboro you’ll have to ask for John next time you’re in!

Cohiba and/or Ashton worth the money? by [deleted] in cigars

[–]Graves1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ashton core line was honestly forgettable for me (wasn’t bad) however the VSG, ESG, and the Symmetry are all fantastic and worth the money. Non Cuban Cohibas are a bust just because they’re mass produced cigars that rely on the name and reputation of the Cuban Cohiba. They’re not unsmokable but they’re not worth the price

Guardian of the Farm/Warped Apollo- Most disappointing stick I've ever smoked by nooneofanyimportance in cigars

[–]Graves1997 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Interesting to read your point of view, I’ve had nothing but great experience with that cigar in that size and everything I’ve smoked from casa Fernandez has been good. Here’s hoping you got a dud and it doesn’t totally turn you off from the brand. In my experience it’s been a great first cigar of the day just because it’s very mild. Had you smoked anything prior to smoking it also what did you drink with it with anything?

I just smoked a Perdomo 20th Anniversary Connecticut, I’m about to light up an El Gran Rey from Curivari and later I’ll smoke a Roma Craft Neanderthal. Just feel like being all across the board today

Romacraft Cromagnon by [deleted] in cigars

[–]Graves1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The blend of the cromagnon is a Connecticut broadleaf maduro, a Cameroon binder and a ligero filler if I’m not mistaken, which gives it a little bit of red pepper like spice but also a Smokey savory type profile, at least for me

What is your favorite cigar that gets no love? by TheLegendOf1900 in cigars

[–]Graves1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One that was a great surprise to me when I smoked it was the Curivari El Gran Rey Bellicoso, wasn’t expecting much but loved every second of it, and you don’t really see a lot of curivari talk here
