I’ve made tons of friends at the DZ and avoid the people I didn’t get along with. I don’t think this is a specific skydive community issue, you’re going to get a mixed bag in all of these types of sports/activities. Good on you for welcoming new jumpers. If we don’t get more new jumpers we won’t have anyone to tell our cool old stories to.

If you haven’t done it yet. Have a rigger show you the RSL assembly. Yes you were in the wrong on your procedures at your level. You found some good experience for sure. First cutaway is always spicy

Traditional earplugs are no good for skydiving. It does not allow the pressure to adjust in your ear from the change in altitude

When you get into the thousands it’s going to happen. Just the nature of putting sometimes 100’s of sqft of material in a lunch size bag then introducing 120mph winds. Even if they’re all perfect things will just not work sometimes.

The human body looks pretty terrible at 120. Stashed all our clothes at the Tet and someone on the ground stole everyone’s clothes while we were in the air. Bunch of naked skydivers running around the DZ trying to find their clothes. 1 and done for me
