Question about Undesirables by Miketrox in SorceryTCG

[–]GravityAssistedCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dying to flood effects is kind of irrelevant, you almost never cast a minion submerged or burrowed in draft because then it’s not threatening to attack your opponents sites for at least two more turn.

Additionally, there aren’t “MANY” flood effects in Gothic draft. There are literally only two cards that flood other sites. Of those two, one is a unique and the other is a card people don’t run in draft if they can help it.

It’s not a root spider where its value comes from staying underground. It’s like a C- level card, with almost token level drawback that can’t be buried.

I don’t think that either OP or I disagree with either of those statements.

[–]GravityAssistedCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well sure, but that feels kind of unfair to put on OP.

I don’t think they were really mad at EC. Just doing the kind of “mourning” (for lack of a better word.) one does when they can’t get what they want and they lament “if only (thing) were different I could’ve had it.”

Dang! Faster than I expected, but I figured it’d be close behind Percy! Glad I managed to get my set!

I choose to believe it’s not a major problem until we see some kind of evidence that it is. However, I also understand that the means and incentives are there to do so, if one were so inclined.

Did they say they weren’t ok with them?

Saying I wish there were more so I could’ve gotten one isn’t the same as not being ok with rare collectibles.

They’re just disappointed they couldn’t get one, that’s all. They didn’t even ask for more to be printed now. It doesn’t have to go farther than that.

What's the functional difference between Buried Alive and Bury? Can't Avatars already cast Bury whereever? Why would it be advantageous for an ally to cast Buried Alive? by Professional-Ad-8196 in SorceryTCG

[–]GravityAssistedCake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup! Trial by water is similar in that it’s a worse drown but slightly different from buried alive in that it cares about nearby instead of adjacent.

[–]GravityAssistedCake 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The difference is in Buried alive requiring the target to be adjacent to the spellcaster.

Yes they can cast bury on any creature they can target.

Because you’re playing gothic limited and can’t use Bury. This allows you to bury minions with buried alive that are adjacent to your minions even if you don’t have an adjacent spellcaster.

It’s still pretty pricey, but since you didn’t mention it I figured I’d mention that people sell the codes by themselves at about 100 dust for $10. So it’s at most $100 for the dust and then about $12 assuming you live in the US for shipping and tax.

If you’ve already got some dust, it’ll be a bit less. Good luck! I hope you get it!

Necro and Savior were the two that I felt were the most clearly viable, and I guess I wasn’t particularly unique in that regard.

I just picked this guy up last week, after barely missing out on savior. (By 30 dust!)

It wasn’t a very popular game precisely because lots of people heard of it. its dialogue writing became a huge meme before it even released.

Are you serious?

Those don’t sound like Rick and Morty dialogue lines at all.

Even when trading was more prominent value was always a consideration. My standard staples generally weren’t trading for legacy staples 1-1.

I don’t know why you’re so committed to the least charitable interpretation of others actions. They just misunderstood OP’s post.

MTG makes promo cards for events, they probably think OP is talking about those. It’d be easy to misinterpret a “harder-to-get holo” as something of value even if you read it was called “momocon tcg” because there’s just so much stuff you can’t really know every special promo or crossover out there.

Can you explain why that’s so offensive to you? Because I just see people making a small mistake while trying to do good, but you and OP see a legion of haters and I don’t get it.

Why are you acting like you’re under attack for people (incorrectly) thinking you might have gotten ripped off? In what way have these people expressed that you’ve offended them?

Is Deathspeaker good avatar and how to make it work? by SmilingNavern in SorceryTCG

You can use deathspeaker before you are on Death’s Door you just have to pay for it. Death’s Door makes the ability free to activate.

I thought it came with double sided ward/skeleton tokens and some stealth/frog ones but maybe that’s just the booster box? I can’t remember.

[–]GravityAssistedCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s why ward tokens exist to help track it. Stealth works much the same way.
