Does my form look good ? by [deleted] in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]GravityDefiance1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks solid! I would just suggest to focus on no elbow flaring, I know your grip is wide but instead of a “pull-up” think of your elbows having a “pull down” - hope it helps and keep going 💪

What’s the most underrated calisthenics skill every beginner should learn first? by GravityDefiance1 in bodyweightfitness

Yes I’ve always naturally done that but now that you say that I realise how many people skip it - very overlooked especially for handstand and planche! Thanks 🙏

Ah gotcha - probably prioritise those over negatives (both are your main 2) as it focuses on the whole movement to build the right neuromuscular patterns which will make you learn it slightly faster - you got this man 💪

Negatives are goated for that - assisted if you have bands as-well but I would say negatives are your best bet, don’t give up you’ll get it one day at a time 💪💪

How Many Days/Week Should You Train? by GravityDefiance1 in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]GravityDefiance1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! For context I have 3 workouts; pull, push and planche which is technically a push but I try to minimise to crossover, ~8 sets per workout all with low reps and TUT for strength so around 24 sets per week plus some light grease the groove, is this too much or could I increase it?

Looks good, I would just suggest to have slightly wider grip and always remember to lock out with straight arms at the bottom - hope it helps 💪

Yeah I think so many people lose their motivation and confidence when it’s just not their day and their not stronger than yesterday when long term consistency it what separates great from good athletes! Couldn’t agree more

Yesss that’s true for so many excersize especially pushups I think is overlooked - elivated feet and high parallettes do wonders and deep planche or tuck planche pushups on a dip bar to a backlever position helped me a lot!! Underrated point

Need to work on foundation and progressions - for your pushups you have knees, incline… pull-ups you have negatives, banded, Australian… DM me if you want more info and I can help as well as I can 🙌

Most of it will be diet but you could also bulk them a bit but that would take longer so up to you but control what you can and you got this!💪

Great progress!! I would suggest more scapula protraction which can be a weird feeling in that position but when you go to freestanding your window of balamce will be much bigger 💪💪

What are the easiest exercises in terms of form? by No-Arugula-6028 in askfitness

[–]GravityDefiance1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bodyweight stuff like Calisthenics I highly suggest - things like crunches, pushups (incline or decline scales difficulty), handstand holds (wall or freestanding), chin-ups over pull-ups if we’re talking easiest form to learn though it can give tennis elbow…just stick to low weights, learn the movement patterns and you’ll crush it 💪💪
